We were shooting the previous raat ko (for a movie jahan pe mere nails ke andar bhi dirt bhara pada tha) and we all had flights to catch to different places at the end of this day.”

She continued, “Thank you Abhishek @abhishekkhandelwal08 and team, firstly for lighting me up sooo wowly. Main sleep deprived koi angle se nahi dikh rahi hu. Thank you for making the atmosphere on set itna positive, not stressing anyone out, and actually making us feel like we shot all these changes araaaaam se. Thank you everyone involved in this shoot and thank you for giving me earrings with patla dandas (my earlobe ka piercing is very small).”

Sharing glimpses from his visit on Instagram, he wrote, “Sri Vijayapuram (Port Blair). Cellular Jail. 115 years of Sagara Pran Tarmalala! To revisit the very Cellular Jail where Veer Savarkar once suffered, where I shot a major chunk of #SwatantryaVeerSavarkar and to witness the unveiling of his statue in what was once dreaded Kaala Paani, feels deeply personal. History may remember slowly, but truth endures. (sic).”

During this visit, Hooda received accolades from RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Home Minister Amit Shah. He expressed his gratitude, stating, “I was honoured to be present on this historic occasion, and humbled to receive recognition from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat ji and Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India Shri Amit Shah ji, at the same place that once bore witness to Veer Savarkar’s immense sacrifice.”

She added, “Being an Actor Dancer always helped me, many times on set. This choreography was inspired by my Odissi dancer friend @purnatamohanty’s choreography which I saw online long back. But when I got a chance to dance on ‘Taal,’ her choreography clicked for me. We hardly had 15 minutes to finish this scene, and @thearshiyasharma also followed the same choreography instructed by me.”

Born on December 14, 1934, the legendary director succumbed to kidney-related ailments in Mumbai. He celebrated this milestone birthday in the company of Shabana Azmi, Divya Dutta, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajit Kapur, Atul Tiwari, and many others.

Benegal is celebrated for his iconic award-winning films like “Ankur,” “Bhumika,” “Manthan,” and “Nishant,” leaving behind an extraordinary legacy in Indian cinema. Making his feature film debut with “Ankur” in 1974, he starred Anant Nag and Shabana Azmi; this film received the National Film Award for Second Best Feature Film and established Benegal as a pioneering filmmaker.

His last directorial venture, “Mujib: The Making of a Nation” (2023), showcased the life of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Over his illustrious career, Benegal garnered multiple National Awards for films such as “Bhumika: The Role,” “Junoon,” “Arohan,” “Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero,” and “Well Done Abba.”
