Hollywood director James Cameron has expressed a keen interest in visiting the sets of S S Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus, “Varanasi.” The film features Telugu star Mahesh Babu in the lead role, and Cameron wants to witness the ace director “create his magic.”
During a recent conversation, Cameron extended this request after Rajamouli watched his much-anticipated film, “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” set to release on December 19 worldwide.
Cameron’s Invitation
Right at the start of their conversation, Cameron thanked Rajamouli for agreeing to discuss his film. He emphasized the importance of filmmakers sharing insights on their creative processes and techniques. “I’d love to come to your set. May I come to your set sometime and watch you create your magic?” he asked.
Rajamouli’s Response
A pleasantly surprised Rajamouli replied, “Oh, that would be an absolute pleasure, sir. You’re most welcome. My entire film industry will be thrilled.” Cameron responded enthusiastically, expressing his eagerness to visit, illuminating his anticipation by asking, “So I think you’re shooting for a while, right, on the new film on Varanasi?”
Film Progress Update
Rajamouli confirmed that they are indeed in the midst of the shoot, stating, “It’s almost a year now and another seven, eight months to go.” To this, Cameron said, “Okay, plenty of time. Well, tell me when you’re doing something fun. I don’t know, something with tigers.”
