Aside from being a phenomenal actor, Anupam Kher is also a fitness inspiration for many, even at 70.
### Fitness Goals and Inspiration
Recently, Kher shared some inspiring moments from his latest gym session on his Instagram handle. In the photos, he was seen posing alongside various gym equipment, including a treadmill and stacked dumbbells.
Kher motivated his followers with a powerful message, stating, “The one who falls and gets up is stronger than the one who never tried. Jai Bajrang Bali!” He also added emojis to express his enthusiasm: a red heart, a smiling face with sunglasses, and a bicep emoji.
### Consistent Dedication
This isn’t the first time Kher has left his fans in awe with his commitment to fitness. In October, he shared an image of himself at the gym showcasing his toned and muscular back while performing a weighted pull-down workout. He proudly captioned it, “You can be a #PosterBoy even at seventy!!! Because you never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice.”
### A Glimpse into His Journey
Kher recently attended the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, where he shared a personal story regarding Hollywood icon Robert De Niro, whom he called his best friend. During his student years, Kher wrote papers on films like “Mean Streets” and “Taxi Driver.” He later had the opportunity to work with De Niro in David O. Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook.”
According to a report in Variety.com, there was a moment during filming when De Niro initially resisted the inclusion of Kher’s character in a significant scene. Kher, however, bravely offered his perspective, fully aware that he risked both his role and the chance to act alongside the legendary actor.
Fortunately, Kher’s risk paid off, culminating in De Niro commending his performance later that night while offering him a drink in his van. “Because I was truthful and not worried about being unpopular with the unit. Today, I can claim that Mr. Robert De Niro is one of my best friends,” Kher expressed.
Kher continues to inspire both in his craft and his approach to fitness and life.
