Actress Elnaaz Norouzi describes her journey into Indian cinema as a natural progression, despite the diverse experiences that have shaped her career. From modelling to international projects and finally transitioning into Bollywood and OTT platforms, she emphasizes that her path has never felt unusual.
Defining Moments in Her Career
When asked about her unconventional trajectory, Elnaaz responded, “Would you really think my journey is unconventional?” She highlighted that many renowned actresses, such as Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Deepika Padukone, and Katrina Kaif, have similar beginnings as models. Furthermore, she mentioned talents like Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi, who have seamlessly made India their home.
Elnaaz stated, “We have so many actresses who entered the industry as successful models—Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif. The list is endless. We also have beautiful talents like Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi who have integrated as if this is their home. So, to be honest with you, coming to India and being an actress has been the most organic thing for me, and this does feel like home.”
Influences from Modelling
Elnaaz expressed her love for the ramp and noted that the discipline and confidence she acquired while walking for global brands significantly shaped her perspective early in her career.
“Walking for international brands taught me discipline and professionalism, but it also gave me the confidence to not let any doubt come in my way. I am resilient because I learn to adapt to international sets and follow their protocol, ultimately becoming a Bollywood actress in the traditional Bollywood way.”
She further shared, “This diversity builds you as a person and a professional. To have people follow you and your work across the globe is also a superb feeling. I am excited because there is so much I can do because of this. It’s a great life, and I am very grateful for it.”
