Actress Sheeba Chadha has expressed her heartfelt response after watching her film ‘The Great Shamsuddin Family’, describing it as an experience filled with warmth and nostalgia.
Taking to Instagram, Sheeba shared that the film stirred memories in an “achingly nostalgic” way, reflecting the beautifully chaotic dynamics of family life. She praised the ensemble cast, calling it “fantastic” and particularly highlighted actor Dilip Shankar, labeling him a “genius.”
“It was such a warm bubble. Seeing the film has in an aching way brought on nostalgia—the crazy dynamic that is Family. And look at this fantastic ensemble. @dilipkhussro you is Genius,” she captioned her post.
Expressing her gratitude to filmmaker Anusha Rizvi, Sheeba, who also shared several stills from the film, wrote: “@anusharizvi2018 Shukran for this mad warm fuzzy ride.”

The film captures the essence of a middle-class Delhi household and features prominent roles by Juhi Babbar, veteran actress Farida Jalal, and Shreya Dhanwanthary.
Set over one day, the narrative follows Bani as mothers, aunts, cousins, and former romantic interests congregate in her apartment, each bringing their own emergencies.
As the protagonist navigates interfaith complexities, generational conflicts, and family expectations, she finds herself at a crossroads: pursuing international career opportunities or staying with her family.

At 52, Sheeba has carved a niche as a character actor in films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Parzania, Delhi 6, Luck by Chance, and Talaash. She is particularly remembered for her role as Nirmala, a sex worker, in Talaash: The Answer Lies Within.
