Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has shared her favorite travel destination, revealing a deep connection to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The actress, who was recently seen in “Jigra,” expressed her eagerness to visit the reserve with her daughter, Raha Kapoor, although she is currently waiting until Raha is old enough to join her on this adventure.
Alia’s Affection for Maasai Mara
During her appearance on the streaming chat show “Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle,” Alia spoke fondly about Maasai Mara. She stated, “I love Maasai Mara. I can stay there for days together. Being around the animals, the greenery everywhere, it’s one of my most precious places to visit. I can’t wait to take Raha there. I haven’t taken her there so far because you can’t take kids there till they reach a certain age.”

The Maasai Mara National Reserve, located in southwest Kenya, is one of Africa’s premier wildlife conservation areas, covering approximately 1,510 square kilometers. Named after the Maasai people and the Mara River, the reserve is globally known for the Great Migration, where over 1.5 million zebras and gazelles migrate from Serengeti between July and October. In a candid moment during the show, Alia addressed the legacy of the Kapoor family, the first film dynasty of Hindi cinema. When prompted by Kajol, she revealed that she had never considered the weight of this legacy until recently. She mentioned, “I feel like when you’re so internally into it, when the relationships are so personal, you don’t really look at it from a professional perspective, about which legacy you’re going into. I think that only comes much later. When we celebrated 100 years of Raj Kapoor, I was like, ‘Oh my God, Raj Kapoor is Raha’s great-grandfather’. That link, actually, I realized only then.”
