Television actor Anuj Sachdeva recently took to social media to recount a disturbing incident in which he was assaulted by an unknown individual over a car parking dispute within his housing society.
Details of the Incident
In a video shared on his social media account, Anuj revealed the alarming specifics of the attack. He stated, “Mujhe sir mein chot lagi hai aur taang mein bhi injury hui hai. Lekin main yeh share karna chahta hoon ki jo actual reason hai, main apne dog ko walk par le jaane ke liye bahar nikla tha.”
He explained that a car was improperly parked in the society. He reported the issue in the owners’ group and took a photo to highlight, saying, “Yeh gaadi ko sahi jagah park karein.”
Confrontation with Pradeep Singh
Anuj elaborated that the assailant, identified as Pradeep Singh, began issuing life-threatening threats and verbally abusing him. As the confrontation escalated, Anuj’s dog, Simba, barked in response, feeling threatened. Anuj noted, “Mera dog ne us par bhonka, kyunki main usse ghumane nikla tha aur woh ek owner ki protection ke liye hamesha saamne rehta hai.” Singh then attempted to retaliate against Simba by picking up a stick.
During the chaos, Anuj moved his female friend and dog aside to avert harm. Nevertheless, Singh struck Anuj multiple times on the head with the stick.
Filing an FIR
Following the altercation, Anuj has filed an FIR against Pradeep Singh, stating, “Aap jab akele hote hai, tab retaliate kar sakte hai. Maine FIR likhwayi hai, aur mujhe Mumbai Police pe poora barosa hai aur judicial pe barosa hai ki woh humara saath degi. Abhi tak arrest nahi hua hai, jo ki hona chaiye. Lekin, I am still hoping that eventually the culprit will get punished. I still feel very unsafe because of him being around in the society.”
He emphasized that dog owners and feeders often face verbal and physical abuse without retaliating, out of concern for their pets’ safety. Anuj expressed gratitude for the support he’s received from his audience, highlighting how, if someone like him can endure such violence, he shudders to think of the “common” man’s experiences under similar circumstances.
A Call for Justice
In his video caption, Anuj wrote, “Thank you to my people, my well-wishers, the media, and everyone who shared my video and stood by me in this difficult time. Your support, kindness, and strength mean more to me than I can put into words.” He added, “The most exhausting part is knowing that the culprit is still not arrested, but I have complete faith in the Mumbai Police and in our judiciary. I truly believe that the truth will prevail and that justice will triumph over evil.”
For those unfamiliar, Anuj Sachdeva was assaulted on December 15 due to a parking dispute. In his shared video, viewers could hear the accused abusing and striking Anuj with a stick.
In his social media post, Anuj stated, “I am posting this evidence before this person tries to do any damage to me or my property. He tried hitting my dog and me with a rod for notifying the society group regarding his car, which was parked at the wrong place in the society parking. Harmony Mall residency. Goregaon w This person is from A wing, flat 602. Kindly share with people who can take action. I am bleeding from my head. (sic)”
