South superstar Shivarajkumar has showered praise on Ranveer Singh for his exceptional performance in the film “Dhurandhar.”
At the success press conference for his own movie “45,” Shivarajkumar expressed appreciation for the multi-starrer “Dhurandhar.” He particularly noted the performances of Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh.
Strong Emotional Resonance
Calling the Aditya Dhar directorial “emotionally strong,” Shivarajkumar remarked, “The emotions were fantastic, the making was very good, and every actor has performed exceptionally well.” He highlighted how much he enjoyed Akshaye Khanna’s performance, while also emphasizing the nuance in Ranveer Singh’s portrayal.
Contrasting Performances
Shivarajkumar explained the differences between the characters played by the two leads. He mentioned that Akshaye’s character allowed for a range of exploration, whereas Ranveer’s role required a more subtle approach. “Akshaye Khanna’s role had a certain freedom where he could explore different shades of his character. Ranveer Singh’s character, on the other hand, demanded a lot of subtlety, which is not easy to pull off. He handled it brilliantly and beautifully,” he stated.
The Need for Ensemble Films
Emphasizing the importance of ensemble films in contemporary cinema, he noted that multi-starrer projects are crucial for showcasing diverse performances on screen.
Tax-Free Status for ‘Dhurandhar’
In another development, “Dhurandhar” has been declared tax-free in Ladakh. The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the film, shot extensively in the region, highlights Ladakh’s stunning landscapes. This move signals strong support for filmmakers and underscores Ladakh’s ambition to become a sought-after destination for film shoots and tourism. The administration is also working on a new film policy to fully support film productions in the region.
