Actor Shakti Anand recently shared a candid glimpse from the sets of the iconic television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. His post featured a playful selfie that highlighted the lighter moments behind the scenes.
While the show is renowned for its intense melodrama, Shakti’s pictures reflected the camaraderie and fun that unfolded off camera. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, a sequel and reboot of the original series, premiered on July 29, 2025. Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay returned as the lead characters, Tulsi and Mihir Virani, alongside Rohit Suchanti, Tanisha Mehta, Shagun Sharma, and Aman Gandhi, who portrayed the second-generation characters.
The first installment of the show debuted in 2008, centering around an ideal daughter-in-law, the daughter of a pandit married to Mihir, the grandson of business tycoon Govardhan Virani. Smriti Irani played the beloved role of Tulsi Virani.
Shakti Anand originally received the offer to join the cast of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi while working as a medical examiner in Delhi, showcasing his range as he played a blind boy in the telefilm Nayan Jyoti.
In addition to his acting career, Shakti and his wife Sai Deodhar participated in the first season of the celebrity dance show Nach Baliye. He has portrayed various characters, including Shivam in Godh Bharaai, and has appeared in shows like Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, SuperCops vs Supervillains, Gangaa as Shiv, and as Emperor Balakumara in Tenali Rama.
Most recently, Shakti was seen as Amber Singh in the show Channa Mereya and has reprised his role as Advocate Hemant Virani in the spiritual sequel of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi since July 2025.
