In an unfortunate incident, child television actor Veer Sharma and his elder brother, Shaurya Sharma, tragically passed away after a fire broke out at their home in Kota in the early hours of Sunday.
Details of the Incident
Reports indicate that the fire started on the fourth floor of the building while the two boys were alone. It reportedly began in the drawing room of their flat at the Deepshree building but did not spread to other rooms.
According to the police, Veer and Shaurya were asleep when the fire ignited and succumbed to suffocation caused by thick smoke. Neighbours who noticed smoke emanating from the apartment quickly rushed to the scene. They broke down the door in an attempt to rescue the boys.
The siblings were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival. Their father, Jitendra Sharma, a teacher at a coaching centre, was attending a bhajan event at the time, while their mother, Rita Sharma, an actress, was in Mumbai.
Cause of the Fire
SP Tejeshwani Goutam stated that a short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire, although details remain uncertain. He noted that the drawing room was completely gutted, while other areas of the flat showed signs of burn marks.
The mortal remains of the boys were handed over to family members after their mother returned to Mumbai. Reports also confirm that the children’s eyes were donated to the eye bank in line with the family’s wishes.
An FIR has been registered under section 194 of the BNSS Act, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the precise cause of the fire that led to the tragic deaths of Veer and Shaurya.
Veer is well-known for his roles in popular shows like “Shrimad Ramayan” and “Veer Hanuman.”
