Hollywood star Timothée Chalamet is making headlines during his press tour for the upcoming film ‘Marty Supreme’. He recently surprised fans with his moves to Soulja Boy’s iconic dance from ‘Crank That’.
At an entertainment convention in São Paulo, Brazil, Chalamet electrified the audience with a vibrant performance of the dance, which originated from the 2007 hit, ‘Crank That (Soulja Boy)’. As captured in footage shared on X, he appeared on stage wearing a lively green and yellow pullover.
The moment Chalamet kicked off the choreography, the crowd erupted in cheers. In another clip, he took off his pullover to reveal a grey hoodie emblazoned with ‘USA’ on the back, tossing the jacket to an eager fan. As he further dazzled the audience by shedding the hoodie to showcase a white tank top, he greeted them with an enthusiastic “Yeah!”
This isn’t the first instance of Chalamet showcasing his Soulja Boy skills. In December 2024, the ‘A Complete Unknown’ star joined host Brittany Broski on the podcast ‘The Broski Report’, teaching her some signature moves from the dance.
Chalamet’s love for dancing is well-known. His ‘Dune’ co-star Zendaya revealed that they enjoyed dance parties in her hotel room while filming. He also displayed his dancing flair in his role as Willy Wonka in the 2023 film ‘Wonka’.
Interestingly, like Soulja Boy, Chalamet once aspired to be a rapper. He performed as his alter ego, Lil Timmy Tim, back in 2012 at an event at New York’s LaGuardia High School, where he graduated.
Currently, Chalamet is busy promoting ‘Marty Supreme’, directed by Josh Safdie. In this film, he plays the role of a table tennis champion with dreams “no one respects,” according to the official synopsis.
‘Marty Supreme’ is set to hit cinemas on December 25.
