Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney has expressed her admiration for films that “have just fully embraced female rage.” The 28-year-old actress stars alongside Amanda Seyfried in their new psychological thriller, ‘The Housemaid.’
Sydney relished the opportunity to smash things and go off the rails for the movie, as reported by sources. The actress shared with ‘People’ magazine, “I love seeing movies that have just fully embraced female rage.”
Amanda Seyfried also enjoyed filming the dramatic scenes for their project, stating, “We don’t get movies like this, where we get to destroy things the way we did in this, and what a dream. There’s no consequences to breaking s***; it’s just rare. I did get to go way beyond with [my character] Nina, but we get our own moments of rage and revenge.”
Director Paul Feig, who has long been a fan of both Sydney and Amanda, was particularly struck by their on-screen “chemistry.” He remarked, “And how deep they went into these characters and were doing things that were surprising me with it. When I get to the editing room, I was picking up on things I didn’t even see on the set that I’m going, ‘Wow, there’s this extra layer that they’re each doing.’”
In a recent statement to ‘Vanity Fair’, Amanda praised Sydney, calling her a “sweetheart.” She highlighted how Sydney has navigated the pressures of fame and success, saying, “I don’t envy anything she’s going through. I’ve spent a lot of time with her; we just hit it off immediately. She’s a very generous, kind person at her core. I have to be honest: I did not have a moment like she’s having ever.”
Amanda also noted the challenges of sudden fame, referencing her friend Lindsay Lohan. She pointed out that the overnight spotlight can be harmful, explaining, “Because any press, good or bad, is still a blinding spotlight, and you have to maneuver and negotiate your way around it and outside of it. It’s acrobatics that I don’t think most people are capable of figuring out at that age.”
Despite the dangers associated with a swift rise to stardom, Amanda commended Sydney for how she has handled the extra attention.
