Sivakarthikeyan’s Rebel Song Revealed in ‘Parasakthi’ by Music Director G V Prakash

Two-time National Award-winning music director G V Prakash has revealed that actor Siva Karthikeyan has sung a rebel song for his highly anticipated upcoming film, ‘Parasakthi’, directed by Sudha Kongara.

G V Prakash took to his social media platforms to announce, “#SK sings for #parasakthi the rebel song #tharakkutharakku @Siva_Kartikeyan @Sudha_Kongara @DawnPicturesOff,” along with a picture featuring himself, the director, and the actor.

This announcement about Siva Karthikeyan performing ‘Tharakku Tharakku’, a notable rebel song, comes shortly after the release of the film’s third single, ‘Nammakaana Kaalam’.

‘Nammakaana Kaalam’, a celebration anthem, features the talents of Haricharan, Nakash Aziz, and Velmurugan, with lyrics penned by Arivu. Notably, the song contains phrases that stress the importance of standing up for one’s language, leading industry insiders to speculate that the film may tackle the significant language issues that affected the state during the sixties and seventies.

Siva Karthikeyan began dubbing for ‘Parasakthi’ in the last week of November. Dawn Pictures released a video showcasing the actor dubbing under Sudha Kongara’s supervision, stating, “When his voice turns into a storm. @sivakarthikeyan begins dubbing for #Parasakthi – Coming to theatres on January 14th.”

The film also features actress Sreeleela, who plays the female lead, and actor Ravi Mohan as the antagonist, both of whom have completed their dubbing. Significantly, Sreeleela has lent her own voice for this role.

The shooting of ‘Parasakthi’ was officially wrapped on October 21, with the Pollachi schedule concluding in August. Sources indicate that crucial sequences were filmed during this schedule, which commenced on July 18, although Siva Karthikeyan joined the crew a bit later.

It’s worth noting that the first filming schedule took place in Madurai, followed by a second schedule in Sri Lanka, with Pollachi being the third location in Tamil Nadu.

‘Parasakthi’ has generated significant interest among fans and film enthusiasts. This period film, featuring Atharvaa, is believed to be set in the 1960s in the erstwhile state of Madras.

A recently released teaser reveals that the narrative unfolds at Pachaiyappa’s college in Madras. Here, Siva Karthikeyan’s character emerges as a fearless leader, determined to galvanize students into a protest against an unjust system that enforces edicts like ‘Students – do not touch’. Interestingly, the teaser shows this order altered to read, ‘Do not touch students’.

Furthermore, the teaser hints that Ravi Mohan’s character is determined to kill Siva Karthikeyan’s character.

‘Parasakthi’, initially referred to as #SK25, marking it as Siva Karthikeyan’s 25th film, features music by G V Prakash and cinematography by the seasoned Ravi K Chandran. Stunts are choreographed by Supreme Sundar. The film is slated for release on January 14, coinciding with the Pongal festival.
