The Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai police has recorded statements from Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in connection with a ₹60 crore alleged fraud case.

### Police Update on Investigation
Mumbai Police provided an update, stating, “Investigations are ongoing against actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in an alleged fraud case of ₹60 crore. A summon was issued by the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police for them to appear for the investigation.” They confirmed that the police have taken their statements in the case and added that Raj Kundra will be summoned again next week for further interrogation.

### Allegations by Deepak Kothari
Businessman Deepak Kothari has accused Shilpa and Raj of conspiring to cheat him out of more than ₹60 crores. He alleges that the funds provided for business expansion between 2015 and 2023 were misused for personal expenses.

### News on Restaurant Closure
In a separate development, Shilpa Shetty recently announced the closure of her restaurant Bastian located in Bandra. However, she later issued an official statement clarifying, “No, I am not shutting down Bastian, I promise.”

She continued, “I have received numerous calls, and while it’s heartening to feel the love for Bastian, please don’t turn this love into something toxic. Bastian is going nowhere. We have always introduced new food and continue with that passion. We are excited to announce not one but two new places.”

Shilpa introduced Ammakai and Bastian Beach Club, stating, “Something new and brilliant again. Going back to my roots with a place called Ammakai – pure South Indian Mangalorean cuisine in our Bandra Bastian and Bastian Beach Club in Juhu. I can’t wait for all of you to try something new and experience the flavours of Bastian hospitality.”
