Ajay Devgn’s latest action-thriller Raid 2 experienced a significant slowdown at the box office on its third day (Saturday). After a strong opening day, the film saw a dip on Friday, and the early trends for Saturday indicate a further sharp decline in collections. The weekend performance will now be critical in determining the film’s overall success.
Raid 2 Day-by-Day Collection Breakdown
- Day 1 (Thursday): Raid 2 started strong, benefiting from high anticipation and possibly holiday factors, earning an impressive ₹19.25 crore India net. This strong opening surpassed initial collections of Ajay Devgn’s previous hits like Drishyam 2 and Shaitaan, and also outperformed competitors like Jaat.
- Day 2 (Friday): The film witnessed a predictable post-opening day drop, collecting ₹12.00 crore India net, marking a decrease of about 37.66% from Day 1. The total collection after two days stood at ₹31.25 crore.
- Day 3 (Saturday): Early estimates based on live data from Sacnilk suggest a sharp drop on the third day. As of their latest update, the film had earned around ₹1.06 crore India net for the day. Note: Sacnilk clearly states this is live data and not the final estimate for the day.
Raid 2 Total Collection So Far
Based on the daily collections, including the early estimates for Day 3, Raid 2‘s total India net collection after approximately three days stands at ₹32.31 crore.
Raid 2 Occupancy Trends
The box office trend is mirrored in the theatre occupancy rates. After a strong overall Hindi occupancy of 34.36% on Thursday, it fell to 19.23% on Friday. Saturday morning shows opened even lower at 12.04% Hindi occupancy, indicating reduced footfall.
Raid 2 Weekend Outlook
Despite the Day 3 dip, the film crossed the ₹30 crore mark within its first three days. Industry experts remain hopeful that collections will pick up over the remainder of the weekend (Saturday evening/night shows and Sunday). Reaching the ₹50 crore milestone by the end of its first weekend is seen as achievable if footfalls improve. The film’s performance over Saturday and Sunday will be crucial for its long-term sustainability at the box office.
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 also stars Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saurabh Shukla in key roles
