Priyanka Chopra Finds Her Journey in ‘Born Hungry’ Hero Sash Simpson’s Story

Global star Priyanka Chopra has shared that stepping into the role of producer for “Born Hungry” resonated with her personal journey of living between cultures, despite her experiences not mirroring the turmoil of celebrity chef Sash Simpson.

Finding Parallels in Identity

Priyanka noted that, as someone who has navigated multiple cultures, she found “familiar echoes” in Sash’s attempts to understand his identity amidst differing cultural landscapes. However, she acknowledged that Sash’s deeper childhood wounds were beyond her comprehension. Priyanka expressed her thoughts: “Definitely. I mean, I didn’t have the struggles that Sash had as a child. That’s incomprehensible to me.”

Impactful Work with Children

Having backed the documentary through her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, in collaboration with filmmaker Barry Avrich’s Melbar Entertainment Group, Priyanka reflected on her interactions with children facing challenging circumstances. She remarked, “There are so many children around the world whose lives and circumstances do not change. I’ve worked with many of these kids around the world. For him to build the life that he did is an inspiration to me every day.”
