Nagarjuna Akkineni Wishes PM Modi Ahead of 75th Birthday
Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, a prominent figure in Telugu cinema and recognized in Hindi cinema, has expressed his best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he approaches his 75th birthday. The actor took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video reflecting on his first meeting with Modi.
In the video, Nagarjuna shared his admiration for Modi, recounting their initial encounter in Gandhinagar in 2014. He stated, “The first time I met him was in 2014 in Gandhinagar. I had been a great admirer of him and what he was doing for Gujarat. When the call came that I could meet Modi ji, I was there in a jiffy.” He fondly recalled how Modi mentioned that his family friends had shared many positive things about him.
Nagarjuna further narrated, “It seems when the children went to you to ask for photographs, you immediately obliged despite the security around you. You called them over and took a photograph, you didn’t even know who they were, but you obliged.”
He highlighted an important lesson from their meeting: “Modi ji said to keep that humility always. Humility is very important for human beings, along with empathy. This is what my takeaway from Gandhinagar is. This whole meeting happened because of Modi ji himself.”
Additionally, the actor recalled how Modi mentioned his late father, Akkineni Nageshwar Rao, during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, recognizing him as a legend of Indian cinema. Nagarjuna expressed gratitude for this acknowledgment, stating it reflects the contributions of legends to the Indian film industry.
Sending his best wishes to Modi a day before his birthday, Nagarjuna said, “Sir, we want you to be healthy and prosper, but we want you, India needs you.”
He reflected on Modi’s sacrifices, saying, “He sacrificed a lot of his personal life. I am sure he had many personal wishes, but he had one goal: to make India a great country.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna wished Modi an early happy birthday, stating, “As Shri @narendramodi ji approaches his 75th birthday, I look back at my very first meeting with him in 2014 — a moment of inspiration, kindness & life lessons. Wishing him an early happy birthday with prayers for his good health & continued leadership. #MYMODISTORY #ModiAt75 #HappyBirthdayModiji.”
