Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan is over the moon after meeting the legendary lyricist Gulzar. The actress shared her joy on social media, posting pictures from their meet-and-greet, which took place on the sets of her upcoming film.
Kareena expressed her excitement, saying, “One for the books Meeting Gulzar saab chalo for me sab kuch ho gaya (Meeting Gulzar Sir is everything for me).” The pictures, shared by Gulzar, show him visiting the sets of the film directed by his talented daughter, Meghna Gulzar.
With a remarkable 25-year career in the Hindi film industry, Kareena recently announced her 68th movie. On September 25, she took to social media to share moments from her first day of shooting alongside filmmaker Meghna Gulzar and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.
She posted a video from the script reading of her upcoming film, accompanied by photoshoots featuring the two actors. Kareena wrote, “Day 1, 68th film Daayra with the most amazing @meghnagulzar and @therealprithvi … Send love and blessings.”
“Daayra” explores the intricate issues of modern society, tackling urgent and unsettling truths that resonate today. This crime-drama thriller unfolds the age-old conflict between crime, punishment, and justice. Expectations are high for both Kareena and Prithviraj to bring depth and intensity to their roles.
Earlier this year, while discussing the film, Kareena shared her excitement, stating, “As I celebrate 25 incredible years in Hindi cinema, I’m thrilled to announce my next film, ‘Daayra’, with the incredible Meghna Gulzar in the director’s chair. I’ve long admired her work, from Talvar to Raazi, and to be directed by her is a dream come true.”
She also highlighted the opportunity to collaborate with Prithviraj, calling it a significant moment. “And I’m drawn to the film’s bold, thought-provoking narrative. Daayra promises to be a cinematic experience that challenges and inspires, and I look forward to working with Meghna, Prithviraj, and the team at Junglee Pictures on this powerful, timely film.”
Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, currently riding high on the success of “Sam Bahadur,” recently received a National Award for her work.
For those unaware, Kareena made her debut in 2000 with “Refugee,” a romantic drama directed by J. P. Dutta, which also marked the debut of actor Abhishek Bachchan, alongside Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, and Anupam Kher.
