Kapil Sharma Declares Himself ‘Winner of Indian Idol’: Here’s Why!

Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma recently showcased his singing talent alongside renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal, celebrating the moment by humorously declaring himself the “winner of Indian Idol.”

Kapil expressed his admiration for Shreya’s brilliance, saying, “Indian Idol toh Saalon se chal raha hai, lekin Shreya ji, aap gaye toh noor aa gaya hain.”

The atmosphere was electric as Kapil joined Shreya for a beautiful rendition of the classic duet “Tum Aa Gaye Ho, Noor Aa Gaya Hai” from the 1975 film “Aandhi,” which starred Sanjeev Kumar and Suchitra Sen, directed by Gulzar.

Sharing his excitement, Kapil stated that singing with Shreya felt like a dream come true. He conveyed how special the duet was for him, admitting it had “absolutely made his day.” Adding a humorous touch, he quipped that performing with Shreya officially made him the winner of Indian Idol.

Speaking about “Aandhi,” the film was rumored to be based on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her relationship with her estranged husband. However, its inspiration came more from the appearances of Tarkeshwari Sinha and Indira Gandhi than anything else. The story revolves around a chance meeting of an estranged couple years after their separation, as Aarti Devi, now a leading politician, finds herself at the hotel run by her husband during an election campaign.

Currently, Kapil is focused on promoting his film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, which promises to deliver an even more vibrant, multicultural marital chaos.

Directed by Anukalp Goswami, the film is produced by Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain, and Abbas-Mustan under Venus Worldwide Entertainment in collaboration with Abbas Mustan Film Production.

Set to hit theatres on 12th December 2025, the trailer of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 offers a glimpse of an entertaining mix of drama, emotions, crisp punchlines, chaos, beauty, glamour, and top-notch comedy.

Alongside Kapil, the film features actors Manjot Singh, Tridha Choudhury, Hina Waria, Parul Gulati, and Ayesha Khan in pivotal roles. Supporting cast includes Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma.
