Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence recently recounted a hilarious incident involving a hallucination while on the set of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’.
During a conversation with Leonardo DiCaprio, she shared that the episode occurred after she accidentally took an Ambien right before filming a scene with Philip Seymour Hoffman.
“You and I are both obsessive about sleep when we’re working, like counting the hours,” she said to her ‘Don’t Look Up’ co-star. “When I did ‘Red Sparrow’, I took an Adderall instead of a sleeping pill, and then I didn’t sleep all night. I was taking hot showers in a panic. I am not somebody who can function without sleep. And then I had to say the phrase ‘Senate Armed Services Committee’ in a Russian accent. That sucked.”
Lawrence went on to reminisce, “I also once took an Ambien in the morning, thinking it was something else. It was a dance scene with Philip Seymour Hoffman in the second ‘Hunger Games’ movie. I was hallucinating. Elizabeth Banks got really annoyed with me.”
In response to Lawrence’s amusing revelation, Leonardo DiCaprio referred to these moments as “key screwups” in an actor’s career. Jennifer Lawrence originated the iconic role of Katniss Everdeen in ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise, which spanned four films from 2012 to 2015.
The series has since expanded, with film prequels like 2023’s ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ and next year’s ‘Sunrise on the Reaping’, which Lawrence is set to appear in.
Reports from earlier this month indicated that both Lawrence and her original co-star Josh Hutcherson will reprise their roles as Katniss and Peeta in ‘Sunrise on the Reaping’. Although the specifics of their cameo are being kept under wraps, fans of the books are aware that their characters feature alongside Haymitch in the epilogue, suggesting a flash-forward.
In various interviews, the actress has expressed her enthusiasm about reprising the role of Katniss on the big screen once more.
