Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is celebrating 25 years of marital bliss with her actor husband, Michael Douglas.
Recently, she took to Instagram to share a nostalgic collection of throwback images from their wedding, their memorable trip to India, and the moments from when they first met.
In her heartfelt caption, she reflected, “25 years ago today, I walked down the aisle. The intoxicating aroma of flowers, the glow of the candles, the resounding harmonious Welsh choir and you at the end of the long walk waiting for me, looking at me the way only you can. I love you today as I did then. Thank you sweetheart.”
Michael and Catherine tied the knot in 2000 and are proud parents to Dylan, 24, and Carys, 21. Their love story began at the Deauville American Film Festival in France in August 1998, where they were introduced by Danny DeVito. After getting engaged on December 31, 1999, the couple married at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on November 18, 2000, following Michael’s finalized divorce.
Their high-profile wedding reportedly cost around $2 million. Prior to marrying Catherine, Michael Douglas was married to Diandra Luker, who is twelve years his junior and the daughter of an Austrian diplomat. They share a son, Cameron, born in 1978, but their marriage ended in divorce in 1995, with Diandra receiving $45 million as part of the settlement.
This year, Michael and Catherine attended the International Film Festival of India in Goa, where Michael was honored with the Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award. A photoset shared by Catherine on Instagram features the couple posing in front of the Taj Mahal, presumably from this trip.
Earlier in September, Catherine celebrated her 56th birthday, which she shares with Michael. She marked the occasion by posting a monochromatic nude picture of herself on Instagram.
