The makers of director Jithin K Jose’s Malayalam film ‘Kalamkaval’, featuring Malayalam superstar Mammootty and Vinayakan in lead roles, have now confirmed that the film’s release has been postponed.

Previously, the makers had announced November 27 as the original release date.

In a message posted on their X timeline, Mammootty Kampany, the production house, stated, “Delayed, NOT Diminished. We hear you… The wait is noted. The Venom Beneath Will Arrive Soon!! #Kalamkaval Release Postponed, New Release Date will be Announced Soon!! #Mammootty #Vinayakan #MammoottyKampany #JithinKJose #WayfarerFilms #SamadTruth #TruthGlobalFilms.”

The news of the postponement has disappointed fans who were eagerly waiting for the film’s release.

The Censor Board has already given the film a U/A certificate. Mammootty himself confirmed this, tweeting, “#Kalamkaval Censored with U/A 16+ Certificate. In Cinemas Soon.”

Interest in the film has surged among fans and film enthusiasts ever since the teaser was released.

The teaser starts with a knock on a door, where a Tamilian opens it and asks, “Who are you?” We then see a police officer questioning another cop whose identity remains a mystery, asking, “Are you the one who’s Nath?” The visuals showcase both lead actors—Vinayakan, who appears to be a police officer, with a serious demeanor, and Mammootty, whose character is less defined, exuding a calm and collected presence while observing someone.

‘Kalamkaval’ marks Mammootty Kampany’s seventh production and features the tagline, “The venom beneath.”

Earlier this year, the makers released a second look poster of Mammootty from the film. Alongside, Mammootty Kampany stated, “Some Faces Raise Questions… Not Answers… Presenting The Second Look Poster of #Kalamkaval Directed by Jithin K Jose.”

The shooting for ‘Kalamkaval’ wrapped up in November last year, with a story and screenplay developed by Jithin K Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar. The editing was done by Praveen Prabhakar, and Faisal Ali handled the cinematography. Young composer Mujeeb Majeed is responsible for the film’s music, while Action Santhosh choreographed the stunts.

The film has generated curiosity, with claims that Mammootty will portray a character unlike any he has taken on before. Rumors within the industry suggest that his character may have shades of grey, but there has been no official confirmation on this aspect just yet.

Bollywood actor Zayed Khan recently visited the revered shrine of Sai Baba in Shirdi to celebrate his 20th wedding anniversary.

Reflecting on his visit, Zayed shared several pictures and expressed how significant Shirdi was to his late mother, Zarine Khan. The streaming series and prequel to the cult classic ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘House of the Dragon’, is set to return with its fourth season.

(Wear these; it will be easy for you.)’ To my surprise, those flats fit me perfectly well.”

She added with warmth, “Later, we had a hearty laugh about it as if it were my own pair of shoes. I also remember how, when my engagement to Dilip Sahib was announced, she kindly called to congratulate me, ensuring she personally conveyed her happiness.”

Banu also recalled a more recent memory of the late star. “A few months ago, I came across a video of her dancing. There she was, still so light on her feet, moving with such grace. She immediately said to me, ‘You know, Saira, I couldn’t have done what you just did… How did you do it?’ From that very first meeting, I held her in genuine respect, and I remained courteous to her always, not out of obligation, but out of admiration.”

She added that Kamini often called Dilip Kumar for advice, saying, “I still remember the affectionate phone calls she would make, asking Sahib to meet people who wished to see him. I would ensure that I took really good care of those guests who visited our home from different corners of the country and the world. She used to call Sahib to seek his advice on various matters or simply to talk, and I always handed the phone over to him.”

For those unaware, Kamini Kaushal, born Uma Kaushal, had shared insights into her past relationship with the legendary actor Dilip Kumar in her memoir. She provided a candid glimpse into the personal experiences that shaped her life and addressed their heartbreaking separation. In her biography, she mentioned, “We were both shattered. We were very happy with each other. We shared a great rapport. But that’s life. I couldn’t dump people and say, ‘Enough now, I’m going!’ I had taken on the girls. I wouldn’t be able to show my face to my sister. My husband, a fine human being, understood why it happened. Everyone falls in love.”

Kamini Kaushal and Dilip Kumar shared the screen in three films: “Shaheed,” “Shabnam,” and “Nadiya Ke Paar.” Although Dilip Kumar rarely spoke openly about his feelings, renowned novelist Ismat Chughtai revealed that he was deeply in love with Kamini.
