In the video, Hema opens up about her initial meeting with her husband, Dharmendra. Reflecting on that moment, she shares, “I met him for the first time at the premiere of one of the films. I thought I had never seen such a handsome man in my life. And later, I heard him saying the same thing about me.”

When Simi inquired whether Hema ever tried to resist Dharmendra, knowing he was married, Hema responded, “In the beginning, I never bothered. Somewhere in my mind, I used to think, ‘If I ever marry, I must marry somebody like him.’ Not him, but somebody like him.”

Hema revealed that Dharmendra would often express his feelings for her, saying, “He constantly used to tell me that he loved me a lot, and I would just say, ‘Okay, okay,’ without giving much importance to it, knowing the consequences.”

When Simi asked what led her to ultimately accept the relationship, Hema stated, “It was destiny. We were together for so long, and then suddenly thinking of marrying someone else just didn’t feel right. So one day, I called him and said, ‘You have to marry me now.’ He said, ‘Yes, I’ll marry you.’ And that’s how it happened.”

Hema also discussed her decision to stay out of Dharmendra’s family matters with his first wife. “I never tried to compete with his other family for his time or attention, not at all. In love, you are supposed to give, not demand. When you love a person so much, and you also receive so much love from them, how can you torture someone for small, petty things?”

She added, “That’s the reason I never bothered, never irritated him, never put pressure on him. I wanted the love to continue. And that’s how it still is today; we love each other so much, nothing can come between us. I understand his problems, and I adjust everything according to him, because of which he loves me even more.”

Hema emphasized, “When you give so much, you receive so much. That is love; you must give respect to the love you have.”

Actor Kunal Kemmu, preparing for the release of his upcoming streaming series ‘Single Papa,’ recently shared insights on how fatherhood influenced his portrayal of the character.

During promotional discussions for the show, Kunal expressed that being a father provided him with a unique edge in understanding his role. He mentioned that without his own experiences, he would have had to rely on the perspectives of others. “Being a father, I’ve had the edge. If I wasn’t, then I would have to draw from others’ experiences and lives and imagine what it would feel like. But here I had my own experiences to draw from. I remembered what it felt like to hold a baby for the first time or like the other things that happen,” he stated.

“When I spoke to them, I was like, ‘These are such beautiful moments.’ They shared that they had planned the show some time ago, but only began writing it a year and a half after becoming parents. Their personal experiences gave them a different perspective in the writing process,” he explained.

He further emphasized the collaborative nature of the project, noting that director Shashank is also a father. “We had all these parents who had their own experiences, and they kind of all came together to write, direct, and act in this show. I really hope that after all of this, it’s a show that families can watch together, resonate with, and enjoy.”

Acclaimed sitar player, composer, and Grammy-nominee Anoushka Shankar is sharing her recent ordeal when her sitar was damaged by an airline crew.

Recently, she took to Instagram to share a collection of pictures and videos showcasing her travels with her sitars and their cases. In her caption, she expressed her gratitude to Ajay Rikhiram from @rikhiramoriginals for helping restore her sitar. “It’s been an insane few days,” she wrote. “I’m waiting for the polish to fully dry before playing it properly, but it looks like it’ll live to see another day! I need to stress that although it was Air India in THIS instance, I have had terrible mishaps over the decades on other airlines too. Over fifteen years ago, I invested in a giant, unwieldy but magnificent flight case which made traveling truly inconvenient, but meant my instrument became perfectly safe.”

Anoushka revealed that a decade later, she finally commissioned bespoke, powerful yet lightweight carbon fibre cases for her sitars, transforming her travel experience. Following a distressing incident where both her father’s and her sitars were damaged on the same Air France flight years ago, she began traveling with two instruments.

She emphasized, “I always fly with one sitar in the hold and one in a seat. I even travel with a sitar tech on-hand to assist with any issues upon landing. It is a huge privilege to be able to tour this way, one that I am acutely aware is not possible for many musicdigihunt who travel with their instruments. Although I have to say, doing all these things is also a forced ‘choice’ I wish I didn’t have to make, and one that causes a significant dent to my earnings. I just wouldn’t be able to tour the way I do without taking these precautions, as airlines universally take so little care of musical instruments.”

She expressed her relief at posting a video showcasing the near-catastrophic crack on her sitar, stating that the situation would have been far worse had she not paid excess baggage fees for a second sitar or had a platform that compelled the airline to respond to her complaint. “If there can be one good thing to emerge from this, I hope that @airindia will hold to their promise to update their internal handling policies for musicdigihunt overall, and that other airlines will follow suit. In an artistic climate that makes touring a near impossibility for so many musicdigihunt, it is the least they can do,” she added.

Earlier, Anoushka shared a video on Instagram that displayed deep cracks in her sitar following a flight. She noted that tuning issues were the first sign of trouble, and upon attempting to play it, she discovered the damage. This shocking incident was the first time in 15–17 years she faced such an issue, despite using a special protective case and paying a “handling fee.”

Describing the incident as “devastating and truly disturbing,” she accused the airline of negligence and lamented, “even an Indian instrument isn’t safe” with an Indian airline.
