Well-known actor and director Raghava Lawrence has launched a new initiative named Kanmani Annadhana Virundhu, aimed at serving food typically enjoyed by the affluent to underprivileged children. Recently, he extended this initiative to those afflicted with Down Syndrome.
### A Heartfelt Mission
In a post on his X timeline, Raghava Lawrence expressed, “Kanmani Annadhana Virundhu – an initiative started with the intent to make food varieties that are usually enjoyed only by the wealthy accessible to people who never come across such food. Food should not be a privilege; it should be a joy that brings smiles to every heart.”
He continued, “This time it was so special to serve my brothers with Down Syndrome. Seeing their happiness while they enjoyed the varieties of food filled my heart with gratitude and love. With all your blessings and support, I will continue to serve others.”
### Remembering His Roots
Just a few days prior, Raghava announced the start of this initiative in memory of his mother, with the goal of providing meals to children who have never had the opportunity to taste such food.
The director of the superhit franchise ‘Kanchana’ stated, “The feast that the rich eat must also reach the poor. I intend to achieve this through a new initiative called Kanmani Annadhana Virundhu. Twenty years ago, I fed 60 children at our home. Now, we aim to seek out children who have never eaten such food and deliver it to them. Service is God. We are beginning this initiative from today. We need all your blessings for this effort.”
### Ongoing Philanthropy
Raghava Lawrence is widely recognized for his philanthropic activities, primarily through his movement called ‘Maatram.’ He has been actively helping the needy and underprivileged in various ways.
Recently, he mentioned, “Life teaches us many lessons. We all go through ups and downs, searching for happiness in the outside world. But with time, we realize that true happiness does not come from outside; it comes from within. In the end, real peace and happiness are found in serving others and making a difference in their lives. #ServiceisGod.”
His commitment to supporting the less fortunate includes assisting another actor, KPY Bala, in building restrooms in a government school, providing essential facilities for students.
### Noteworthy Contributions
In recent months, Raghava helped a man who had to pledge his late wife’s mangalsutra to fund his daughter’s education, retrieving the gold mangalsutra to enable the girl to pay her college fees. Last year, he distributed 10 tractors across villages in the state to aid poor farmers.
Through every initiative, Raghava Lawrence continues to make a positive impact on the lives of many, embodying the spirit of service.
