After all, Neelambari (played by Ramya Krishnan) mentioned in the first part, ‘I will at least take revenge in the next birth.’ So, the title will be ‘Neelambari – Padayappa 2’. Rajinikanth also revealed that he was the actual producer of the original film and had conceptualized the storyline as well as the title.

“When we needed to think of a title, I suddenly suggested ‘Padayappa’. I don’t know how it came to my mind, but I felt it had a nice ring to it. Director K S Ravikumar was initially surprised and said, ‘I haven’t heard this word before. It sounds nice but also a bit old.’ I insisted it was a fitting choice, and he agreed to keep it,” Rajinikanth explained.

Ajay Devgn expressed that this year’s birthday feels particularly special as he fondly remembered legendary actor Dharmendra.
