Filmmaker Anees Bazmee celebrated a milestone as his 2007 romantic comedy “Welcome” marked 18 years since its release.

Despite the film aging, Bazmee shared that the audience’s affection for the drama remains ever youthful. On his Instagram account, he posted memorable scenes from “Welcome” and wrote, “18 years of Welcome… and the love hasn’t aged a bit. From Majnu-Uday’s madness to Ghungroo’s priceless reactions, from Rajiv’s innocence to RDX’s swag—every character stayed, lived, and became family.”

He expressed gratitude to movie lovers for their continued enthusiasm for the film over the years. “Welcome became a mood, a reference, a comfort watch. Thank you for the love, the laughter, and for welcoming Welcome into your lives again and again,” Bazmee added.

Actor Anil Kapoor, who portrayed Majnu in “Welcome,” also commemorated the occasion by recalling how the late Feroz Khan significantly contributed to the film with his powerful performance as RDX. Sharing images from the movie on social media, Anil remarked, “18 years of Welcome. This one’s for Feroz Khan Saab. Welcome wasn’t Welcome without RDX, just like Mr. India wasn’t complete without Mogambo. Both are irreplaceable period.”

He further reminisced, “I remember hearing the script and wondering how it would land. Picture yaha ruk jati hai baith jati hain. Anees bhai said, ‘Chinta mat karo… Feroz Saab picture utha lenge.’ And he did. RDX lifted the film. This film. This character, this madness. Magic.”

In addition to Anil and Feroz Khan, the movie boasts an ensemble cast featuring Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, and Mallika Sherawat, along with special appearances by Sunil Shetty and Malaika Arora.

“Welcome” notably represents Feroz Khan’s last on-screen appearance before he tragically passed away after battling lung cancer.
