Actor Akshay Oberoi has officially confirmed his role in Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film “King,” directed by Siddharth Anand. He describes this opportunity as “a dream come true,” stating that his “checklist” is now complete.
Third Collaboration with Siddharth Anand
This marks Akshay’s third collaboration with director Siddharth Anand, following their work together in “Fighter” and the OTT series “Flesh.”
Akshay expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s a dream come true, my checklist is complete now that I’ve got the chance to work in a King Khan film and share screen space with him. Growing up, Shah Rukh Khan has been one of my biggest inspirations, not just as an actor but as someone who redefined charisma and hard work in Indian cinema.”
He added that being part of a film featuring Shah Rukh Khan feels surreal. “I’ve admired his discipline, his energy, and his generosity as a performer for years. To finally experience that in person is something I’ll always cherish.”
Special Connections in the Industry
Akshay mentioned that director Siddharth Anand and producer Mamta are like family to him now in the industry. When Siddharth called him to be a part of this magnum opus, he “had to jump in” and immediately said yes. He emphasized that his association with them is truly special and that he is soaking in every moment and learning as much as he can from Siddharth on set.
Shooting in Poland
In September, Akshay traveled to Poland for the shoot of “King.” The film also features Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, along with Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, and Abhay Verma, promising a high-octane drama with an ensemble cast.

Akshay’s latest release is “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.” Set against the vibrant backdrop of a big fat Indian wedding, the recently released trailer offers a glimpse into a world filled with romance, comedy, and festive sparkle.
