The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted a U/A certificate to director Vignesh Karthick’s upcoming entertainer, “Hotspot 2 Much,” featuring actress Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead role.
Film makers revealed a new poster on Friday, confirming the Censor Board’s approval for release. A recently released trailer has heightened excitement among fans and film enthusiasts.
Trailer Highlights
The trailer indicates that this second installment in the Hotspot franchise will align with the themes of its predecessor. It opens with a scene where a mother inquires about her teenage daughter’s boyfriend’s caste. The daughter replies, “They are our people. Can’t you tell just by looking at them?” The bewildered mother questions her reasoning, and the daughter says, “They didn’t have tails. That means they belong to our species, right?”
Another notable moment features actor Ashwin Kumar, who confronts a drunk friend who has fallen asleep. Ashwin angrily asserts, “How dare you sleep when I am talking about something so important?” to which the friend responds, “Sorry machan, I tend to doze off if I don’t like the story.” This exchange evokes memories of a past controversy involving Ashwin Kumar.
Additionally, the trailer presents Rakshan and Aadhitya Baaskar as fervent fans of film stars. While Priya Bhavani Shankar’s exact role remains uncertain, there is a scene where she comments on the trend of casting older heroes with younger heroines. The film also features strong female characters who express desires for a DINK (Double Income No Kids) lifestyle and cuffing relationships.
