Seeking to tap into the massive fan following actor Prabhas has in Japan, the creators of director Maruthi’s horror comedy ‘The Raja Saab’, which stars Prabhas in the lead role, have confirmed plans to release a dubbed Japanese version of the film. This release is set to happen within three to six months after the film’s debut in India.
At a pre-release event, producer T G Vishwa Prasad was asked about the plans for a release in Japan, considering Prabhas’s popularity there. The producer stated, “We are at present releasing the film in Indian languages. We will have the film dubbed in Japanese and release it in Japan three to six months after the release here.”
Prabhas recently visited Japan for the release of ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, a film that celebrated the significant fan base he enjoys in the country. Prior to ‘Baahubali’, his film ‘Saaho’ also saw a successful release in Japan, making it the highest opener for an Indian film in that market.
Regarding the expectations for ‘The Raja Saab’, the producer mentioned uncertainty about the number of screens it would secure in Tamil Nadu, but estimated that it could range from 150 to 200 screens.
‘The Raja Saab’ has generated considerable excitement among fans and film enthusiasts alike. The chilling but well-edited trailer released recently has only heightened this buzz.
This film marks a significant shift for Prabhas as it will be his first full-fledged horror entertainer. Cinematography is by Karthik Palani, and the music is composed by Thaman S.
The cast features Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar, all expected to bring charm, elegance, and freshness to the eerie yet vibrant world of ‘The Raja Saab’.
