A Song That Resonates with Soldiers
Not just the general public, but our Indian soldiers have also expressed their admiration for this patriotic number. Recently, the film’s leads, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty, along with singer Sonu Nigam—who has lent his voice to the track—were seen enjoying a jam session with the soldiers. In a social media clip captioned “ghar,” one soldier played the harmonium while another accompanied him on the dholak.
Sonu Nigam’s Heartfelt Dedication
Earlier, Sonu Nigam shared that being part of this patriotic song felt like a homecoming for him. He posted the track on his official Instagram handle, dedicating “Ghar Kab Aaoge” to the brave soldiers and their families.
His heartfelt note read, “Some songs aren’t just melodies; they are emotions that belong to the soul of our nation. 🇮🇳 Being a part of this song for Border 2 felt like a beautiful homecoming. It is rare for an artist to relive such magic, and I feel truly blessed that this journey continues. This one is for our brave soldiers and the families waiting for them.”
A Nod to the Original Classic
The original track “Sandese Aate Hai” from the 1999 film “Border” was performed by Sonu Nigam and Roopkumar Rathod. Picturized on stars like Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, and Jackie Shroff, the song features lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
The iconic composition by Anu Malik has now been reimagined by Mithoon, with new lyrics penned by Manoj Muntashir Shukla.
