Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh recently shared his humorous take on battling a runny nose and the winter blues with some traditional desi remedies.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Diljit opened up about feeling under the weather and how he turns to comforting home food. He explained, “I have a cold… what do you call it, I have a runny nose. So, besan cheela and remedies with besan will be used,” showcasing his cooking process with a lighthearted text overlay that read “solo trip.”
He noted that while his besan cheela turned out a bit thick, it still tasted delightful. “Pehle cheela thoda mota bana hai, par swaad bahut hai. Look beautiful,” Diljit remarked, humorously admitting that he ended up eating one while standing, finishing it before he even got a chance to plate it.
In the clip, he continued, “I have a cold… What do you call it, I have a runny nose. So, besan cheela and remedies with besan will be used. Ek toh main khade khade kha gaya…”
Adding a fun twist to the experience, Diljit shared a learning moment from his kitchen. While looking for besan, he found out that it is called chickpea flour in English and that garbanzo flour is actually the same as besan. He said, “Ek badhi interesting cheez hai I thought I’ll show…I wanted besan and then I googled that it’s called chickpea flour in English. Then I found out that Garbanzo flour is besan. This is the first time I learnt.”
Among his winter essentials, he listed ghee, honey, and poppy seeds, noting that if he had eggs and milk, those would have made the cut too.
Before wrapping up, he showcased the cleaned dishes from his cooking session and introduced another cold remedy involving poppy seeds and desiccated coconut mixed with ghee, which he highlighted as a helpful concoction for the chilly season.
