Actor Ajith Kumar’s remarkable journey on the racing track is set to be showcased in a docu-film, which is expected to hit theaters on May 1 next year, coinciding with his birthday.
Sources close to Ajith confirmed that renowned Tamil film director A. L. Vijay will helm this docu-film, which will run for approximately 90 minutes. The film aims to inspire countless youngsters to chase their dreams.
“Scores of youngsters have dreams that remain unfulfilled. Life makes their dreams drift away from them. This will be an attempt to inspire them to pursue their dreams,” revealed a source close to the star.
Additionally, this initiative aims to popularize motorsport, which is often viewed as a luxury sport in India. A source added, “Until the 1983 World Cup, cricket was considered an elitist game as well. We are hopeful that this will similarly enhance motorsport’s popularity in India.”
Director Vijay has captured not only exhilarating races in Malaysia but also significant moments, such as strategy meetings, discussions with teams, practice sessions, and Ajith’s comprehensive preparations. He is also set to film upcoming races in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for inclusion in the docu-film.
“The docu-film will be presented in theaters like any regular movie, divided into two halves of 45 minutes each. We are also planning to release an extended version on OTT later,” the source informed.
Earlier this year, Ajith Kumar received the prestigious ‘Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025’ award in Venice, Italy. This award, established in memory of entrepreneur and racing driver Philippe Charriol by SRO Motorsports Group— a global leader in GT racing—recognizes exceptional drivers.
This accolade serves as fitting recognition for Ajith Kumar, who achieved his dream of becoming a car racer this year. He announced his team, Ajith Kumar Racing, which proudly participated in several challenging international racing championships, securing numerous accolades. Notably, Ajith didn’t just own the team; he actively competed alongside his fellow team members.
