Hollywood actress Zoe Saldana is currently trying to grasp the slang used by Generation Alpha, and she’s feeling “hyper-focused” as she navigates through it.
Zoe’s Favourite Pop Culture Moment
The 47-year-old star’s top pop culture highlight of 2025 is the term “6-7.” This internet meme and phrase became viral on TikTok and Instagram Reels in October, originating from the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by rapper Skrilla, 26. Despite its popularity, the phrase lacks a clear meaning.
Speaking about this trend, which is pronounced “six seven” and was even named the word of 2025, Zoe expressed to ‘People’ magazine, “This whole 6-7 thing has been, oh God, an absolute anomaly. I am just so hyper-focused on this Gen Alpha lingo, and I’m gonna get it.”
Association with NBA Player
In addition to the “6-7” meme, which is often linked to NBA player LaMelo Ball, 24, due to his height of 6 feet, 7 inches, Zoe has also adopted the term “aura,” referring to the “cool factor” someone possesses.
As reported by ‘Female First UK’, Zoe joked about her efforts, saying, “But, every time I think that I’m preserving my aura, that’s when I’m told that I lost it.”
On Parenting and Fame
In June, the ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ star shared her wish that her three sons—10-year-old twins Cy and Bowie, and nine-year-old Zen—were unaware of her fame. She said, “I wish I had kids that didn’t really know what I do or understand what I do, but my kids have grown up with me on-set. My husband and I really made that decision to not separate our lives. I feel like my work is kind of like their backyard, so they do understand it, and then they don’t. They care about it, and then they don’t. They think in soccer language. So it’s very much like, ‘It’s kind of like the World Cup, Mom. It’s like the World Cup of acting.’ It did give me a little bit of cred, but then they’re rolling their eyes again.”
Since her historic Oscar win in March, Zoe aims to be “more present” in the lives of Cy, Bowie, and Zen. She made history as the first performer of Dominican descent to win the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her role as attorney Rita in the musical-comedy film ‘Emilia Perez’.
