Chennai’s thriller ‘Trikanda’ may release on January 23, aiming for a devoted audience return.

The makers of director Mani Thellagutie’s much-anticipated spiritual supernatural thriller, ‘Trikanda,’ featuring Mahendran and Shraddha Das in lead roles, are considering a release date of January 23 next year.

Producer Srinivas revealed in an exclusive conversation that the film was shot in Chennai and Hyderabad over approximately 60 to 70 days.

When questioned about the release plans, Srinivas stated, “We are considering releasing the film on January 23 next year. That is because devout believers of God are our target audience. Many of the believers are on a holy trip to Sabarimala to offer prayers. We wish to release this film at a time once everybody returns. So, at the moment, we are considering releasing the film on January 23. We haven’t finalized anything as of now.”

The film’s trailer was recently launched at Prasad Lab in Chennai, attended by media personnel.

Trailer Highlights

The trailer opens with gripping sequences that showcase dark powers at work. A voiceover ominously states, “We wage a war for it to dawn. But the war waged by this demon of darkness is to prevent dawn from arriving forever.”

Visuals depict the devout cowering in fear under the rule of dark powers. A haunting voice laments, “What we hoped shouldn’t happen… What we thought mustn’t fall into the hands of that person… has now reached his hands. Now, the entire world is going to be destroyed. Is there no way to stop this impending destruction?”

The introduction of hero Mahendran features impressive action sequences. Shraddha Das’s character, a psychiatrist, believes a patient she is handling suffers from bipolar disorder, not realizing he is under the influence of evil forces. The trailer suggests an intense battle between good and evil will unfold.
