Singer-songwriter Celine Dion has devised a charming way to celebrate Christmas. Recently, she shared a delightful video on her Instagram, where she was seen sitting next to a crackling fireplace.
Dressed as the Grinch
In this festive video, Dion donned an elaborate Grinch costume, enhanced by intricate bright green makeup. She kicked off the fun by talk-singing the chorus of “All by Myself,” before diving into a humorous parody. Drawing inspiration from Jim Carrey’s 2000 film ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas,’ she began a playful monologue about her busy schedule.
“The nerve of those Whos, inviting me down there on such short notice. Even if I wanted to go, my schedule wouldn’t allow it,” she quipped, clutching a small dog dressed in antlers reminiscent of the Grinch’s pet, Max. Her whimsical schedule included:
- 4:00 PM: Exercise my voice
- 4:30 PM: Wake my children up
- 5:00 PM: Solve world hunger (Tell no one)
- 5:30 PM: Jazzercize
- 6:30 PM: Dinner with myself (I can’t cancel that again!)
- 7:00 PM: Wrestle with my creative ideas
With a hint of mischief, she added, “I’m booked. Of course, if I bumped my creative ideas to 9:00, I’ll still have time to lay in bed and scroll TikTok videos endlessly. Or I can just simply wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year… boring.”
Closing with a Classic
According to reports, she wrapped up the video by serenading her audience with “All by Myself,” singing, “When I was young, I never needed anyone.”
Originally released by Eric Carmen in 1975, “All by Myself” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Dion’s cover, which she released before her 1996 album ‘Falling into You,’ remains one of her most successful hits in the U.S. to this day.
