Actress Sayani Gupta reveals her long hair journey after years of short styles, embracing a new look.

Actress Sayani Gupta, celebrated for her dynamic screen presence, has opened up about her decision to embrace long hair for the first time, a departure from her usual short styles that she has sported for work throughout her life.

She recently shared a charming video on Instagram, showcasing herself in a short white dress and her long black straight hair flowing gracefully.

Reflecting on her journey, Sayani revealed that she had secretly admired the long, glossy locks of iconic shampoo ad models while growing up. In her caption, she expressed, “As someone with short hair all my life, always cutting my hair for different roles and even for an audition once, and secretly always wanting the ‘clinic plus’ girls’ hair growing up….this is a newfound discovery of the self.”

She also addressed a common misconception, clarifying that she does not rely on hairpieces; instead, she credits her beautiful locks to patience and care. Sayani added, “(And no I don’t use hair pieces like I get asked all the time.) Love to my beautiful hair artists who have been pestering me to grow my hair for a decade now.”

Her current projects include “Delhi Crime Season 3” and the final season of “Four More Shots Please!”

In “Delhi Crime,” Sayani stars alongside Shefali Shah, who plays Vartika Chaturvedi, a sharp police officer navigating intense investigations under considerable public and political pressure. The series is noted for its realism, emotional depth, and portrayal of systemic challenges facing law enforcement in India. It received global acclaim for its sensitivity and authenticity, even winning the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series, establishing itself as one of the most impactful Indian shows on Netflix.

Meanwhile, “Four More Shots Please!” centers on the lives of four unapologetically flawed women—two in their 30s and two in their early 20s—as they navigate life, love, and the occasional mistakes, discovering what truly matters to them through friendship and tequila shots in millennial Mumbai. The show also features Bani J, Kirti Kulhari, and Maanvi Gagroo.
