Actress Bhumi Pednekar believes that happiness can be found in the simplest of moments. Her recent Instagram post showcases a joyful “latergram” from her time spent with loved ones while enjoying delicious pizza.
Bhumi shared a series of images from a family outing. She expressed her sentiments with the caption: “No greater joy than spending time with the ones you love and pizza… #latergram.”
Known for portraying headstrong small-town women, Bhumi made her film debut as an overweight bride in the romantic comedy Dum Laga Ke Haisha. She gained prominence with notable films such as Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Bala, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Saand Ki Aankh, and Badhaai Do.
Her recent projects include social dramas like Bheed, Afwaah, and Bhakshak. On November 14, she spoke about her role in Bhakshak, highlighting how it revealed the harsh realities many children endure, impacting her perspective significantly.
Bhumi wrote: “This Children’s Day, my heart is full thinking about all the children, whose stories have stayed with me, shaped me, and changed the way I see the world. Bhakshak was one of the hardest journeys I’ve taken as an actor. It opened my eyes to the harsh realities so many children face—fear, silence, invisibility.”
She continued, “Living that truth, even for a film, shook me deeply. And then there are the children I met at Abhyudaya Ashram, full of resilience, joy, dreams, and an inner strength that humbles me every time. They remind us of how far compassion, safety, and dignity can take a child.”
Bhumi’s vision of “children” extends beyond humans. She reflected on India’s street dogs, viewing them as innocent and vulnerable beings that deserve kindness, protection, and a place in our world. “What the world needs is empathy and space for all,” she stated while wishing everyone a #HappyChildrensDay.
Recently, Bhumi was seen in the film Mere Husband Ki Biwi alongside Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh. On the OTT front, she appeared in The Royals, directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana. The series features an ensemble cast, including Ishaan Khatter, Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Vihaan Samat, Dino Morea, and Milind Soman.
The narrative revolves around a financially struggling royal family in modern-day India, whose fortunes change when the heir partners with a hospitality entrepreneur to transform their ancestral palace into a luxury resort.
