Bollywood actor Govinda celebrated his birthday on Sunday, receiving warm wishes from veteran actor and politician Shatrugan Sinha.
A Heartfelt Tribute
Shatrugan, in a delightful post on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account, referred to Govinda as “an actor par excellence, and a fine human being.” He extended his birthday wishes with the message: “Birthday wishes for our friend & favorite, a complete entertainer, an actor par excellence, a fine human being #Govinda. God Bless this evergreen actor abundantly always. Profound regards to the family. #BirthdayWishes (sic).”
A Glimpse into Their Friendship
Along with his heartfelt message, Shatrugan shared two photos with Govinda from different phases of their lives, highlighting their long-standing friendship.
The duo has shared the screen in multiple films over the years. Their first collaboration dates back to 1979 with Subhash Ghai’s “Gautam Govinda,” which also featured Shashi Kapoor, Moushumi Chatterjee, Aruna Irani, Vijay Arora, Nirupa Roy, Premnath, and Madan Puri in significant roles.
In 1986, they reunited for “Ilzaam,” directed by Shibu Mitra, where Shatrughan portrayed Inspector Suraj Prasad while Govinda played the role of a poor orphan, Ajay Kumar.
Three years later, in 1989, they appeared together in “Aakhri Baazi,” an action crime thriller where Govinda took on the character of Ram Kumar and Shatrughan graced the screen as Prashant Kumar.
Celebrating Family Bonds
Recently, Govinda was seen reminiscing about his iconic charm from the ’90s during his sister Kaamini Khanna’s birthday celebration. A video shared by Kaamini on social media captured the moment she cut the cake alongside her brother. Govinda serenaded her by singing the birthday song in his unique style.
