Actress Raveena Tandon celebrated her father’s acclaimed directorial venture, “Majboor,” as it marked 51 years since its release with a heartfelt post on social media.
Sharing a poster from the 1974 action thriller on her Instagram Stories, Raveena wrote, “it’s 51 yrs of the super hit ‘Majboor’… Released on 6 Dec 1974 (sic).”

The film, penned by the legendary writer duo Salim-Javed (Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar), is said to be loosely inspired by two Hollywood projects from the 1970s—”Zig Zag” and “Cold Sweat.” According to reports, Salim-Javed first pitched the story to filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, who appreciated it but envisioned a larger-scale production. Ultimately, the film was directed by Ravi Tandon, while Ramesh Sippy went on to create the iconic “Sholay,” also written by the duo.
