Actress Tisca Chopra has made her feature directorial debut with ‘Saali Mohabbat’ and revealed the motivation behind her transition to direction.
A Unique Storytelling Experience
‘Saali Mohabbat’ expertly blends drama, emotion, and unexpected twists. Starring Radhika Apte, the film delves into a world where relationships, secrets, and ambition intertwine.
Reflecting on her journey, Tisca shared, “Majboori mein main director bani hoon, main aapko bata rahi hoon ki main bani hi isliye hoon because I didn’t want to reach a point jahan mere paas kaam nahi hai, toh mai khud likh ke khud bana lungi, ye soch ke main director bani hoon.” This translates to her becoming a director out of necessity, as she aimed to avoid a time when she would have no work. Her raw and honest perspective showcases her creative drive and determination to tell stories on her own terms.
Production and Acknowledgment
Produced by Manish Malhotra, ‘Saali Mohabbat’ is likely to resonate with audiences due to its bold storytelling and compelling characters. Tisca’s distinct voice adds depth to the narrative, promising an immersive experience that will keep viewers engaged from start to finish.
Earlier, Radhika Apte praised Tisca for her role in helping her navigate the delicate balance between quiet vulnerability and hidden strength in preparation for her character.
In her own words, Radhika described her role: “The trailer captures the unsettling stillness of Smita’s world. Playing her meant sitting with emotions that aren’t always easy to define, and that challenge was incredibly rewarding. Tisca’s guidance helped me find that fragile balance between quiet vulnerability and hidden strength.” She emphasized, “Smita may appear reserved, but she shouldn’t be provoked; never underestimate the power of a quiet woman.”
