In a surprising turn of events, two separate prayer meetings were held in memory of the late Dharmendra on the same day, November 27.
Dual Memorials for a Legendary Star
The first prayer meet was organized by his first wife, Prakash Kaur, along with sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Meanwhile, Dharmendra’s second wife, Hema Malini, coordinated a separate gathering with their daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. The prayer meet hosted by Hema took place at her bungalow, while Sunny and Bobby held their service at another location in Mumbai.
A Gathering of Friends and Family
Numerous close family friends and well-wishers were in attendance at Hema Malini’s home for the service. Notable figures included Sunita Ahuja and her son, Yashvardhan, along with actress Madhoo, who came to pay their respects. The prayer meeting organized by Bobby and Sunny was graced by the presence of superstars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sidharth Malhotra, Abhay Deol, Aryan Khan, and many more.
Remembering the Legend
For those unaware, Dharmendra would have celebrated his 90th birthday on December 8 this year. The beloved actor passed away at the age of 89 after facing breathing difficulties and being put on a ventilator a few weeks prior. He was eventually discharged from the hospital and returned home for ongoing treatment.
Dharmendra is survived by his first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their four children—Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeta, and Vijayta. He is also survived by his second wife, Hema Malini, and their two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
Earlier in the day, Hema Malini penned an emotional farewell note for her late husband. She also shared cherished moments in the form of pictures featuring herself and their daughters Esha and Ahana with Dharmendra on her social media.
