Actress-singer Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are now officially married, marking a significant milestone in their long-term relationship. The couple celebrated their special day by sharing pictures on Instagram, including polaroids and film footage, to commemorate the event.
Selena and Benny first crossed paths when she was around 17 years old. Her mother facilitated this meeting to support Selena’s budding music career. According to reports, they quickly became close friends and collaborated on multiple projects over the years. Benny produced two tracks on Selena’s 2015 album, Revival, and Selena later featured on Benny’s 2019 release.
Their collaboration continued in 2023 with Selena’s song “Single Soon.” This year also marked the beginning of their romantic relationship, and by December 2024, they were engaged.
In March, their collaborative efforts culminated in the release of their joint 14-song album, I Said I Love You First. Ahead of the album’s release, Spotify shared a 33-minute conversation between the couple, where they discussed their writing process.
Selena mentioned, “We’d get up in the morning and have a conversation. But our conversation was never led going, ‘What are we going to write in the album?’ (sic)”. She added, “I was constantly just writing whatever you said wherever we were. Sometimes, you’d be saying something really important, and I didn’t know if you even realised, but I would always open my phone and be like, ‘F***, that’s such a good line for a song’”.
Transitioning from a child star to a global icon, Selena has established a successful music career with hits like “Come & Get It” and “Lose You to Love Me,” and she also fronted the band Selena Gomez & the Scene.
