Bail Details
On September 10, Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Bhupinder Singh granted bail to Ashish, conditional upon the furnishing of a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh, alongside a surety bond of the same amount.
The court’s decision was influenced by the submissions of counsel, material on record, CCTV footage, and the fact that the accused is not required for further investigation.
Background of the Case
On September 6, the court placed Ashish under 14 days of judicial custody after police interrogation. The actor, known for his role in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, was arrested in Pune, Maharashtra, on September 2 after a woman filed a complaint alleging that Ashish invited her to a friend’s house party and sexually assaulted her inside the washroom.
Investigators noted that CCTV footage and witness accounts confirmed Ashish and the plaintiff entered the washroom together and did not come out for an extended period.
