The actress took to her social media to share a playful video of her time in the recording studio. With the caption, “Kanakavathi Coming Your Way,” Rukmini offered fans a glimpse into the fun and energy she experienced while bringing her character’s voice to life.

The prequel to the original blockbuster, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, is set during the reign of the Kadambas of Banavasi. Written and directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, the film stars Rishab and Jayaram in lead roles. Filming for the upcoming action film began in November 2023, with the first look and teaser releasing on November 27. Sources also revealed that Rishab Shetty will portray a Naga Sadhu with superhuman powers in the film. The production announced in July that shooting had wrapped up.

‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ is slated for release on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.
