  • Chhavi Mittal’s Heartfelt Farewell: Actress Mourns Loss of Father in Touching Tribute

Chhavi Mittal’s Heartfelt Farewell: Actress Mourns Loss of Father in Touching Tribute

Television actress Chhavi Mittal recently shared the heartbreaking news of her father’s passing on her social media account. In an emotional tribute, she expressed her profound admiration and love for him.

Chhavi wrote, “I always introduced him proudly as a ‘genius.’ A scientist who quit his job to set up a business of his own, inventing several electronic things in the process, setting up a base for the 3 of us kids. To the world he was a gold medallist, an industrialist… but to me he was the man who always had all the answers and who never ever said no to me. Whether it was me deciding what my career stream was going to be, or my decision to move to Mumbai, or my choice of groom… he always fully supported me. I get my intelligence, my characteristics and even my features from him.”

She concluded, “To the world he may wear many hats, but to me… he will always be my papa. I’ll miss you forever RIP.” Along with her heartfelt message, the actress shared several pictures of herself with her father.

A few days ago, Chhavi, who triumphed over cancer in 2023, had taken to social media on November 13 to share concerning news that worried her fans. In a video, she revealed that she needed to undergo a scan to rule out the possibility of cancer returning. She reassured her followers, stating, “What’s gonna happen is gonna happen, so you gotta do what you gotta do! Happy… No wait… THRILLED to share that my scan was 100% normal and what we were seeing were some pre-menstrual hormonal disturbances which gave us a scare of another biopsy. Frankly, I was terrified…but I do give an abso-fuck! I am a resolute FIRM believer of the FACT that only GOOD can happen with me and God has a hand above my head. That’s why I’m protected. So thank you to each one of you who prayed for me and made my belief stronger!” In the video, Chhavi was seen undergoing various scans at the hospital while boosting her own morale.

Earlier this year, she shared a reel discussing how she has prioritized her health like never before. In her post, she wrote, “I started 2024 prioritising health and attempted some new PRs (personal records) for the first time after my cancer. While monkeying around with my kids at home, I had a very bad fall, which I believe was the first of four foot fractures I experienced in 2024.” She continued, “Even with a broken foot, I was trying something when I had a nasty fall, which I think worsened my fracture.”

Chhavi Mittal has been a strong advocate for self-love and health care, a message clearly conveyed through her social media presence. She is married to director Mohit Hussein and is blessed with two children.

  • Bhumi Pednekar Unveils Harsh Realities of Childhood in New Film ‘Bhakshak’

Bhumi Pednekar Unveils Harsh Realities of Childhood in New Film ‘Bhakshak’

On the occasion of Children’s Day, Bhumi Pednekar took a moment to reflect on the powerful stories of children that have deeply influenced her life and career.

    Impact of “Bhakshak”

Discussing her journey in the film “Bhakshak,” Bhumi revealed how her role brought her face-to-face with the harsh realities many children endure. She described these experiences, filled with fear, silence, and invisibility, as pivotal in shaping her perspective and worldview.

Sharing a series of heartfelt images with children on Instagram, she expressed, “This Children’s Day, my heart is full thinking about all the children, whose stories have stayed with me, shaped me, and changed the way I see the world. Bhakshak was one of the hardest journeys I’ve taken as an actor. It opened my eyes to the harsh realities so many children face, the fear, the silence, the invisibility.”

    Reflections on Resilience

Bhumi continued, “Living that truth, even for a film, shook me deeply. And then there are the children I met at Abhyudaya Ashram, full of resilience, joy, dreams, and an inner strength that humbles me every time. They are a reminder of how far compassion, safety, and dignity can take a child.”

    A Wider Perspective

The ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ actress added, “But my idea of ‘children’ extends beyond just us humans. Whenever I look at India’s street dogs—innocent, trusting, and vulnerable—I see children of this earth. Born into the streets, dependent on our kindness, deserving of protection, care, and a place in our world without fear. They too are voiceless little beings trying to survive in a world that doesn’t always make space for them. What the world needs is empathy and space for all. #HappyChildrensDay.”

    About “Bhakshak”

Directed by Pulkit, “Bhakshak” tells the story of a struggling local journalist who uncovers a series of disturbing cases of abuse being hidden at a shelter for young girls. As she digs deeper, the investigation reveals the harsh realities and systemic neglect faced by vulnerable children.

  • Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara Seek Blessings at Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, Karnataka

Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara Seek Blessings at Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, Karnataka

Director Vignesh Shivan and his wife, actress Nayanthara, recently visited the famous Kukke Subrahmanya Swamy temple located in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka.

On Friday, Vignesh Shivan shared a picture on his Instagram alongside Nayanthara while standing outside the temple, which is well-known among devotees. Interestingly, this temple had also been visited by Telugu director Sampath Nandi, who came to offer prayers with his family on his birthday earlier this year.

As Vignesh prepares for the release of his much-anticipated film ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ (LIK), featuring actors Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in lead roles, his visit holds special significance. The release of this film was postponed from October 17 to December 18 to prevent a clash with Pradeep Ranganathan’s film ‘Dude.’

The film has faced multiple delays, placing significant pressure on Vignesh Shivan. In a heartfelt note commemorating the 10th anniversary of his superhit film ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ on October 17, he reflected on the journey, writing: “Ten years of NaanumRowdyDhaan today… October 21st 2015 🙂 A life blessed with a lot of miracles started from this lovely day. How beautifully time has played its tune…”

However, he had envisioned this milestone differently. He expressed hopes that ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ would reach “all your hearts, making the day even more special for me.”

Vignesh shared that he had saved his happiness for this specific occasion. Yet, life taught him that joy could be found even without such moments. He wrote about discovering peace and happiness during this Diwali, realizing that true contentment doesn’t rely on applause or success.

“We chase milestones thinking they’ll only make us happy, but happiness is not such a tough destination! It can be a gentle pause from everything else that kept you busy, a sense of calmness, a feeling of satisfaction… A warm hug from your loving wife, that kiss reassuring the deep love existing for over a decade!” he elaborated.

He continued, “The innocent laughter from your babies, looking straight into your eyes, knowing nothing about the pain that’s hidden inside! Your family and friends’ unconditional love, saying sweet things that make you feel better—these are as good as the big wins we save our happiness for. I have learnt — You don’t have to ‘win’ to be happy.”

Vignesh encouraged everyone to appreciate life’s small blessings and remain hopeful. He stated, “Sometimes dreams take a different route — but God, always, in His quiet own way, finds a method to make you smile. A heart that feels grateful, even when things don’t go as planned, is a heart that’s blessed, filled with love and acceptance.”

In closing, he shared a powerful message: “Nenacchadhu nadandhaalum, nadakkalanaalum! Nalladheyyyy nadakkummm nu nambuvom (Whether what you believe happens or doesn’t happen, let us believe that only good things will happen). Life is beautiful! God is great!”

  • Anupam Kher: Regional Films Reviving the Rich Tapestry of Indian Stories Overlooked by Bollywood

Anupam Kher: Regional Films Reviving the Rich Tapestry of Indian Stories Overlooked by Bollywood

Veteran actor Anupam Kher has praised the rise of regional cinema in India, noting how films from the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bengali industries are bringing the country’s narratives back to the forefront.

In an exclusive interview, the ‘Special 26’ actor observed that while regional films are thriving and presenting authentic Indian stories, Bollywood has largely overlooked this rich storytelling tradition. When asked about the current state of regional cinema, Anupam stated that it is no longer merely “regional” but has transformed into genuine pan-India cinema.

He reflected on his vast experience, having worked in nearly all Indian languages, except for a couple like Assamese and Gujarati. Kher highlighted that regional industries are more organized and aspirational, aiming to connect with global audiences. He applauded regional cinema for its authentic storytelling, contrasting it with Hindi cinema, which he feels has forgotten these traditions.

The 70-year-old actor shared, “No, it’s not like that. First of all, it’s not regional anymore. It has become pan-India cinema. But the second thing is that I have worked in almost all the languages of India, except one or two—Assamese, Gujarati, etc. They are much more organized because they are aspirational, wanting to be accepted by the whole world. And that’s what COVID did. It showed us films that we didn’t watch—Malayalam cinema, Telugu cinema, Tamil cinema, Bengali cinema.”

He added, “Now people are in a mood to watch good films. Hats off to regional cinema for telling the stories of India. Hindi cinema has forgotten. We have to tell the stories about India and Indianness. That’s why Tanvi the Great is an Indian story. It’s about an Indian girl facing the universal issue of autism. I believe we will come out of it.”

Anupam Kher was speaking on the sidelines of the Jagran Film Festival, which is currently being held in Mumbai. The festival, running until November 16, aims to honor and celebrate the art of storytelling in cinema.

Ace director Suresh Krissna, known for his impactful films, has recently unveiled his spiritual feature film “Anantha”. During the shooting of this film, he experienced what he describes as one miracle after another.

    About ‘Anantha’

“Anantha” is produced by Girish Krishnamurthy and stars notable actors Jagapathi Babu and Suhasini Maniratnam in lead roles.

    Director’s Emotional Journey

At the music launch event held recently, Suresh Krissna expressed immense gratitude, stating, “Words cannot express my happiness today. My heartfelt thanks to Girish for making this project possible. I have directed several commercial films, but when I was told to make a film on Sai Baba and that it should also have commercial appeal — I saw it as a divine challenge.”

The director excitedly shared a miraculous experience from 2009.

“A friend who wanted to make a biopic on Baba took me to Puttaparthi. When I stood before Baba, he looked at me and said in Telugu, ‘Where have you been all these years?’ and I broke down. Two years later, Baba attained samadhi. Years passed, and one morning, Baba appeared in my dream. That same day, my friend informed me they had just been discussing making Baba’s film with me,” disclosed Suresh Krissna.

    The Vision for the Film

Following this profound experience, producer Girish approached him with the vision of creating a film that would resonate with devotees globally, aiming to introduce even those unfamiliar with Baba to his teachings.

“I asked for three days to reflect. But the next day, at 3 AM, inspiration struck. In one hour, the entire story flowed through me — as though Baba himself was writing it. The film tells several real-life stories where Baba’s presence and miracles are felt. Deva sir composed a song for the film in just 10 minutes — truly divine grace! Every single day of shooting, we witnessed one miracle after another. I was blessed with a wonderful team who worked tirelessly with devotion. I sincerely believe ‘Anantha’ will touch every viewer’s heart,” he expressed, filled with hope.
