Bollywood star Ajay Devgn expressed his grief on social media, stating, “Heartbroken to hear about Dharam ji. His warmth, generosity and presence inspired generations of artists. The industry has lost a legend… and we’ve lost someone who shaped the very soul of our cinema. Rest in peace, Dharam ji. Om Shanti.”
Kajol’s Emotional Farewell
Kajol, Ajay Devgn’s wife and a prominent Bollywood actress, also penned an emotional tribute to Dharamendra. Sharing a delightful picture of her son Yug sitting on Dharmendra’s lap, she wrote, “The OG of the Good Man is gone, and the world is poorer for it… somehow it seems like we are only losing the good people in it. Kind to the core and loved always. RIP Dharamji… with love always.”
For those who may not know, Kajol starred alongside Dharmendra in the 1998 superhit movie Jab Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, where he played her onscreen uncle. The movie also featured Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan. Additionally, they shared screen space in the 1995 film Taaqat.
Industry-wide Mourning
The mourning over the superstar’s passing resonates throughout the entire Bollywood community. Notable figures, including filmmaker Karan Johar, designer Manish Malhotra, and entertainers like Kapil Sharma, Suniel Shetty, and Shilpa Shetty, have all taken to their social media platforms to pay tribute.
It’s poignant to note that Dharmendra would have turned 90 on December 8 this year.
