Born Shantaram Rajaram Vankudre in 1901, V. Shantaram was a pivotal figure in Indian cinema, with a career that lasted nearly seven decades.

He established two major film studios: Prabhat Film Company in 1929 and Rajkamal Kalamandir in 1942, and directed the first Marathi-language talkie, “Ayodhyecha Raja,” in 1932.

His notable works include “Duniya Na Mane” (1937), “Do Aankhen Barah Haath” (1957), “Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje” (1955), and “Navrang” (1959).

These films were celebrated for their technical innovations and progressive social themes, addressing issues such as communal harmony, dowry, and prisoner rehabilitation. He was honored with India’s highest film accolade, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, in 1985.

The images that he makes are not just things that you can pin into an algorithm and pop back. The images that I make with my cinematographer reflect his entire life’s work and existence as a human being, the difficulties, the failures, everything… so deeply and… not very respectfully AI.”

Speaking about this decision, Adivi explained, “The decision started with my previous films, because when I also write, I understand the meaning of an emotion on paper and the meaning of emotion when it’s on camera. About ‘Dacoit’

For his upcoming film “Dacoit,” Sesh confirmed, “We decided not to dub and take the route of shooting it simultaneously in both languages.”

Shatrughan Sinha’s Comforting Visit

Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share that he met with Hema Malini, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol to offer comforting words during this difficult time of loss. Mourning the passing of his ‘dearest family friend’ and ‘elder brother’ Dharmendra, Shatrughan expressed on the micro-blogging site, “Met our dearest family friend @dreamgirlhema. It was heart breaking to meet her in these traumatic times of her tremendous loss of our dearest family friend our elder brother @aapkadharam. Met her two beautiful daughters @Esha_Deol #AhanaDeol with comforting words for their immense loss. Dharamji was a kind & gentle soul.”
