Navneet Nishan Shares How Saif Ali Khan Played Her Brother at Engagement Ceremony!

Actress Navneet Nishan, widely remembered for her role in the iconic 90s TV show Tara, has surprised fans by sharing a collection of rare throwback pictures from her personal archive.

Connections with Saif Ali Khan’s Family

In her heartfelt post, Navneet revealed a special bond with actor Saif Ali Khan, his ex-wife Amrita Singh, and daughter Sara Ali Khan. The photos, dating back to the 1990s, capture her close friendship with Saif. Notably, she shared that Saif played the role of her brother during her engagement in 1998 to software engineer Srirajan.

Navneet reminisced about the intimate ceremony, saying, “Mumbai, 1998. These are never-seen pictures of my engagement. It was a small get-together at home with close friends and family. I got engaged to Srirajan, a software engineer who was the vice president at Oracle Singapore at that time. We were introduced by the well-known photographer Shipra Shukla, and there was instant chemistry. We dated for 2 years and then decided to tie the knot. Saif was my rakhi brother, so he performed the small ceremony as a brother.”

These were exciting times, a lot of travelling with close friends. London was a favourite; the food and shopping was divine. On this holiday, I was lucky to have Amrita as my tour guide. Since she knew London really well, she took me to museums, the Tower of London, fabulous restaurants, and theater to watch a play. Through the 90s, we took several trips to London as it became our favourite city. Good memories.” Notably, Navneet and Amrita starred together in the 1988 Bollywood film Waaris.

  • Big B Cheers for Abhishek as Team India Shines in Asia Cup 2025 Victory!

Big B Cheers for Abhishek as Team India Shines in Asia Cup 2025 Victory!

As India secured a thrilling five-wicket victory against arch-rivals Pakistan to claim the Asia Cup 2025, megastar Amitabh Bachchan couldn’t resist taking a playful jab at former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar for mistakenly confusing the cricketer’s name with that of a Bollywood actor.

In his usual witty style, Bachchan remarked on Pakistan’s loss, saying “bolti band.”

Amitabh took to X to tease Shoaib and share his excitement: “Jeet gaye!! .. well played ‘Abhishek Bachchan’ .. udhar zubaan ladkhadai, aur idhar, bina batting bowling fielding kiye, ladkhada diya dushman ko!! Bolti band.” (We won!! Well played, Abhishek Bachchan… On one side, the tongue stumbled, and on the other, without batting, bowling, or fielding, we made the opponent falter!! Silence reigns.)

The nation rejoiced on Sunday night as Team India clinched the Asia Cup 2025 title, marking their ninth triumph in this prestigious Continental tournament.

The final, held at the Dubai International Stadium, perfectly encapsulated the fierce India-Pakistan rivalry. Pakistan made a strong start, reaching 113/1 in just 12.4 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46). However, India’s bowlers, spearheaded by Kuldeep Yadav’s outstanding four-wicket haul, caused a dramatic collapse, with nine wickets falling for just 33 runs, leaving Pakistan stranded at 146 in 19.1 overs.

The mix-up regarding names between cricketer Abhishek Sharma and Abhishek Bachchan stemmed from Shoaib’s analysis of Pakistan’s prospects in the Asia Cup final during his talk show, Game On Hai. He had stated that if Pakistan could dismiss Abhishek Bachchan early in a hypothetical scenario, it could spell trouble for their middle-order, which has struggled lately.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan responded with humor: “Sir, with all due respect… don’t think they’ll even manage that! And I’m not even good at playing cricket.”

  • Bigg Boss 19: Halwa Sparks Chaos as Nehal Accuses Baseer of Being a ‘Chor’!

Bigg Boss 19: Halwa Sparks Chaos as Nehal Accuses Baseer of Being a ‘Chor’!

A “sweet” moment turned sour in the ‘Bigg Boss 19’ house when halwa became the center of a heated argument. Contestant Nehal Chudasama didn’t hold back, openly calling co-housemate Baseer Ali a “chor.”

    The Halwa Incident

A promo posted by the channel on Instagram features Kunickaa Sadanand asking Nehal if she sampled the halwa she prepared for housemate Tanya Mittal’s birthday. Upon checking the fridge, Nehal discovered that Baseer had taken a significant portion for himself.

She remarked, “Jitna Tanya ke liye bana hai, uska aadha baseer ne rakh liya hai” (the halwa made for Tanya, Baseer kept half of it for himself). Baseer responded, “Main nikaal ke abhi deta hun, itna marne waali bata toh hai nahi” (I’ll take it out and give it right now, it’s not like she’s dying for it).

Nehal became upset with Baseer’s comment and retorted, “What do you mean by marne rahi hai. Tu marr.” Baseer then told her to keep quiet, escalating the tension.

    A Tense Exchange

As the argument heated up, Baseer’s friend and co-housemate Amaal Mallik could be heard singing Badshah’s track “Yeh ladki pagal hai.” Nehal then accused Baseer of being a thief, a claim that triggered a strong reaction from him. The two were seen nearly coming to blows, with other housemates intervening to diffuse the situation.

“Tu hai chor. Don’t do that. Don’t touch me,” Baseer was heard saying amid the chaos.

    Show Details

The promo concluded with a caption teasing the fight over halwa and questioning how the house environment would change, followed by an invitation to viewers: “Dekhiye #BiggBoss19 ka naya episode, har roz raat 9 baje #JioHotstar par aur 10:30 baje @colorstv par.”

The current contestants locked inside the ‘Bigg Boss’ house include Gaurav Khanna, Amaal Mallik, Ashnoor Kaur, Mridul Tiwari, Kunickaa Sadanand, Baseer Ali, Abhishek Bajaj, Tanya Mittal, Zeishan Quadri, Nehal Chudasama, Pranit More, Farhana Bhatt, and Neelam Giri.
