Ayesha Raza Mishra Confronts Stigmas Surrounding Single Parenting in Powerful Discussion

    Societal Stigmas

“Social stigmas are everywhere,” Ayesha stated, emphasizing the biases present in contemporary society. “Some people think that women can’t do this. Similarly, a man can’t raise a child because you need a woman’s touch. Actually, it’s not true,” she asserted. Ayesha, who is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix show “Single Papa,” firmly believes that capability is not defined by gender.

    Family Dynamics in ‘Single Papa’

“Given a chance, a woman can do many things. And given a chance, men can do so many things. I think there are social stigmas,” she added.

In “Single Papa,” Ayesha feels the narrative doesn’t confine itself to stereotypes. “It’s been more about the process of a family dealing with a very unique situation and the chaos that ensues. It also explores the emotional aspects of a family grappling with a challenge. How, as a family, you have to get over it and come together as well. I think that’s been really interesting.”

  • Jenna Ortega Wants Audiences to Get ‘Sick’ of AI’s Dominance in TV and Movies

Jenna Ortega Wants Audiences to Get ‘Sick’ of AI’s Dominance in TV and Movies

Actress Jenna Ortega has voiced her apprehensions regarding the growing use of artificial intelligence in film and television. She expressed hope that audiences will eventually feel “sick” of AI-generated content and retreat to authentic human creations.

    Human Touch in Storytelling

At a press conference during the Marrakech Film Festival, the ‘Wednesday’ star noted, “There is really charm in the human condition… As humans, we have a tendency to always, when you look back at history, take things too far. It’s very easy to be terrified. I know I am in times like this of deep uncertainty. And it kind of feels like we’ve opened up a Pandora’s Box.”

Ortega emphasized the irreplaceable aspects of genuine art: “There are certain things that AI just isn’t able to replicate. Yes, there are beautiful, difficult mistakes, and a computer can’t do that. A computer has no soul, and it’s nothing that we would ever be able to resonate with or relate to.”

She further remarked, “I don’t want to assume for the audience, but I would hope it gets to a point where it becomes some sort of mental junk food, AI and looking at the screen, and then suddenly we all feel sick, and we don’t know why. Then that one independent filmmaker in their backyard comes out with something, and it releases this new excitement again.”

    Concerns from Fellow Filmmakers

In a related view, acclaimed director Bong Joon Ho shared that while he acknowledges the potential benefits of AI, he still wishes to “destroy” the technology due to the threats it poses to the creative industry. “My official answer is, AI is good because it’s the very beginning of the human race finally seriously thinking about what only humans can do. But my personal answer is, I’m going to organise a military squad, and their mission is to destroy AI,” he stated.

Director Celine Song also echoed these sentiments, supporting Guillermo del Toro’s recent pledge not to incorporate AI into his work. She expressed her concerns about AI’s impact on humanity, saying, “To quote Guillermo del Toro, who will be here at this festival, ‘AI… the way that it is completely destroying the planet… the way that it is completely colonising our minds in the way that we encounter images and sound, I’m very concerned about it.”

    The Artist’s Role

Song highlighted the essence of artistry, asserting that the core responsibility of artists is to safeguard human expression. “The number one thing that we’re here to defend as artists is humanity. We’re here not to think about what makes human life easy or convenient, but what it’s like to actually live,” she explained.

She added, “Severance is one of the best documents about the way that AI is completely taking over what is beautifully difficult about human life… What I’m actually more worried about than anything is the way that it is trying to encroach on what makes our lives very beautiful and very hard, and what makes living worth doing.”

Discussing her collaboration with a cinematographer, she remarked, “It might be easy to think that cinematography is a lot of images, but working with my cinematographer, who’s a human being, a grown man, I get to have his whole life. The images that he makes are not just things that you can pin into an algorithm and pop back. The images that I make with my cinematographer reflect his entire life’s work and existence as a human being, the difficulties, the failures, everything… so deeply and… not very respectfully AI.”

  • Adivi Sesh Explains His Decision Not to Dub ‘Dacoit’ in Hindi: Here’s Why!

Adivi Sesh Explains His Decision Not to Dub ‘Dacoit’ in Hindi: Here’s Why!

Actor Adivi Sesh has shared insights into a significant artistic choice he’s made: opting not to dub his films in Hindi, but instead, creating them originally in both languages.

    A Thoughtful Decision

Speaking about this decision, Adivi explained, “The decision started with my previous films, because when I also write, I understand the meaning of an emotion on paper and the meaning of emotion when it’s on camera. There’s a translation that happens.” He expressed concern that merely translating a word can sometimes lead to a loss of essence.

He pointed out that “some words and phrases are very native to that language”, emphasizing the importance of authenticity in scriptwriting and filmmaking. “As an actor, when you truly emote the lines on screen in that language, the audiences connect more.” Therefore, while the process is challenging, he believes it is better to shoot and write films in two languages rather than relying solely on dubbing.

    About ‘Dacoit’

For his upcoming film “Dacoit,” Sesh confirmed, “We decided not to dub and take the route of shooting it simultaneously in both languages.”

The film features a talented cast, including Mrunal Thakur, director and actor Anurag Kashyap in a powerful role, along with Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla.

“Dacoit” narrates the story of an angry convict determined to seek revenge on his ex-girlfriend for her betrayal. As he meticulously crafts a perilous trap for her, the narrative unfolds into an emotionally intense tale of love, betrayal, and vengeance.

The film is shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, with the story and screenplay jointly created by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. Currently in post-production, “Dacoit” is all set for a grand pan-India release.

Adivi Sesh has already established himself as a leading actor with notable performances in commercial and critical successes such as “Dongaata,” “Kshanam,” “Ami Thumi,” “Goodachari,” “Evaru,” “Major,” and “HIT: The Second Case.”

Manoj Pahwa Opens Up: Why ‘Single Papa’s’ ‘Baby’ Left Him Disappointed

Acclaimed actor Manoj Pahwa, known for his effortless humour, recently shared an amusing yet slightly disappointing moment from the set of his upcoming project, “Single Papa,” where he worked with a four-month-old baby.

When asked about the experience, Manoj stated, “He disappointed me. The baby.” He reflected on his extensive history of working with children, recalling his earlier projects, “I’ve done some shootings with kids in the beginning, Just Mohabbat, Bol Baby Bol, all these were with kids.”

Manoj mentioned the typical expectations when shooting with kids: “So, working with kids, as an actor, this was the advantage. Shot is ready, shot is ready. Where did he go? Sir, he’s horse riding. He’s a kid. He went to the beach in a hurry.” He chuckled, explaining that these spontaneous breaks often provided the actors with a chance to relax.

However, this time proved to be quite different. “So, I said, it’s good. He’s a kid. He’ll cry in between. So, we’ll get some rest,” Pahwa noted. To his surprise, the little one was a total professional.

“He was so professional. He’s quiet. Wherever you want to see, you have to see. But, it felt like he learned it from his mother’s womb,” he added.

The show features Kunal Kemmu, Ayesha Raza, and Prajakta Koli alongside Manoj Pahwa. Headlined by Kunal Kemmu, “Single Papa” tells the story of Gaurav Gehlot, aka GG, a lovable man-child with an emotional age best described as “work in progress.” His unexpected decision to adopt a baby right after his divorce shocks his family, who briefly consider rebooting him. This leads to chaotic situations as the Gehlots try to comprehend how a man who still misplaces his socks plans to raise a child.

Created and co-produced by Ishita Moitra and Neeraj Udhwani, with Shashank Khaitan as the executive producer, and directed by Hitesh Kewalya and Neeraj Udhwani, the series is produced by Aditya Pittie and Samar Khan under the Juggernaut Productions banner.

“Single Papa” is set to premiere on December 12 on Netflix.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas: “I Have So Much More to Achieve in English-Language Projects!”

Global sensation Priyanka Chopra Jonas continues to impress as she navigates multiple industries and continents. Her creative drive remains ignited as she looks towards a new chapter in her international career.

Reflecting on her remarkable journey, the star, who made her Hollywood debut in 2015 with the American TV series Quantico, where she starred as FBI recruit Alex Parrish, expressed that though she has tested various genres in Hindi cinema, she feels she has “barely scratched the surface” in her English-language projects.

When asked about her current motivations—whether it be validation, legacy, or creating opportunities for others dreaming beyond borders—Priyanka, who has graced various Hollywood films like Baywatch, Isn’t It Romantic, The White Tiger, The Matrix Resurrections, Heads of State, and the action thriller series Citadel, shared in an exclusive interview: “I think a little bit of all of it. I feel that as an artist, I still have a lot more to do in my English-language work. I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface.”

She further emphasized, “In my Hindi cinema filmography, I’ve worked across almost every genre possible, and now I’m seeking to do the same in my English-language or international work, whatever language that might be in.”

The actress, recognized with two National Film Awards and the Padma Shri, aims to create impactful characters and films that resonate, shift culture, and mobilize audiences.

Priyanka is committed to backing inspiring narratives through her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, which she founded in 2015. She stated, “At the same time, with my production company, I really want to get behind incredible filmmakers like Barry Avrich, who has told such a beautiful story in such a vulnerable yet technically sound way.”

She added, “We’ve tried to do that with many films Pebble has backed—like Anuja, To Kill a Tiger, Ventilator, Pani. We work across many languages, and the company was built on the ethos of being the shoulders I never had when I joined the industry.”

Priyanka expressed her commitment to amplifying stories that matter, bringing together artists—be it filmmakers, writers, or actors—who seek recognition on a global scale. “And yes, maybe it comes from the fact that when I joined the film industry, I didn’t know where to go, who to talk to, or which door to knock on. Maybe that’s why I’ve taken on the movies I have and built the company with the ethos it carries today.”

  • Adam Sandler Reveals: ‘As a Kid, I Was Totally Dreaming of Fame!’

Adam Sandler Reveals: ‘As a Kid, I Was Totally Dreaming of Fame!’

One of Hollywood’s finest stars, Adam Sandler, has revealed that he became an actor primarily because he wanted to be famous.

The 59-year-old actor shared that when he began his comedy career, his goal was to attract attention like Eddie Murphy did. However, over time, his priorities evolved, and the focus shifted to producing quality work.

In an interview with the Sunday Times Culture magazine, Sandler reflected: “As a kid I 100 per cent wanted to be famous. When I was 17 and got into stand-up, I wanted what Eddie Murphy had — walking down a street, people going, ‘My God!’ That would let friends at school and your parents know you had made it, and that was my first goal. So yes, I wanted fame, but a couple of years in, you also want to be good. And that becomes the goal.”

Sandler, who has daughters Sunny and Sadie with his wife Jackie, acknowledged the challenges of working while managing personal issues on set. He expressed, “Trying to play a light mood when you are feeling darkness is not easy… Look, no part of me, zero, wakes up and says, ‘Man, I wish that this hadn’t happened.’ But you have a real life. You have ups and downs just like everybody. People overlook that. You can be in the room but your head is spinning in another direction because of work. But that’s the same with every job.”

His co-star on Jay Kelly, George Clooney, echoed Sandler’s sentiment, reminiscing about the demanding 17-hour days on the set of E.R. He shared, “You cannot be sick. I never missed a day.” Clooney recounted a particularly poignant moment when Julianna Margulies received heartbreaking news about a loved one’s passing while on set. He described, “And she was crying. But we had to do this long, funny scene — someone had an arrow stuck in their head. And she put the phone down, wiped away the tears, nailed the scene and then came back and cried. You can never let them see you sweat.”

Sandler also commented on the current landscape of comedy in Hollywood, noting that it’s not as easy to get a comedy project green-lit these days. He remarked, “The enthusiasm isn’t as high as 15 years ago. It is a numbers game, and comedies just weren’t hitting as hard as they used to. Still, there are a lot in production now — they’re cheap to make. But it’s not the same as it used to be.”
