However, during that time, she herself has gone through a test and was tested negative of COVID-19. In the post, she wrote, “My parents were showing mild COVID 19 symptoms over the weekend and as a precautionary measure, everyone at home underwent tests immediately. The results have come in, unfortunately, my parents have tested positive. The necessary authorities have been updated on their situation and we are complying with the precautionary guidelines. The rest of the family members, including myself and the staff, have tested negative. By the Grace of God, they are coping well and all your prayers and blessings will put them on the road to recovery.”

    On her work front, actress Tamannaah Bhatia is presently occupied with three significant movies in Tollywood. Soon, in the movie, Seeti Maar, the actress Tamannaah Bhatia will be presented on the screen as a Kabaddi Trainer. Apart from, that she will also be seen in Gopichand which will be directed by director Sampath Nandi. Besides, in the movie, Gurthundha Seethakalam Tamannah Bhatia will also be cast. The movie will be a remake of Love Mocktail, which is the Kannada blockbuster. She will be appearing in Andhadhun’s Telugu revamp. She will play an exposition of Tabu’s character. Nithiin will be the lead actor in the same movie.

    Food colorings: Food colorants are dyes, pigments or additives added to foods. It is often added to processed drinks, condiments, medicinal drugs and cosmetics. The FSSAI ensures approval of the additives in order to ensure that it can be safe for consumption.

    Food colorants can be of two types: Natural and artificial food colorings

    Some of the natural food colorings include:

    • Lycopene (obtained from tomatoes)
    • Anthocyanin- This consists of reddish purple to bluish in colour.
    • Turmeric
    • Beta carotene- It has red orangish colour
    • Caramel- Dark brown liquid obtained by heating sugars.
    • Betanin-obtained from beetroots.

    Some of the artificial food colorings include:

    • Quinolone yellow: It is a water soluble dye
    • Erythrosine: It is pinkish colored dye often used in cakes and candies.
    • Tartrazine: A lemon yellow colored dye, used in candies, soft drinks and deserts.
    • Sunset yellow: It is a yellow-orange dye used in baked goods and sauces.
    • Brilliant blue: It is used in icings, soft drinks and canned foods.

    Can synthetic food colorants cause ADHD/hyperactivity?

    There is no official evidence regarding the same though a few studies connect ADHD with food colorants use.  In a study conducted by Belinda Bateman in 2004, there was association seen between  artificial food colorings and benzoate preservatives on the behaviour of 3 year old children. A study conducted in 1978 by JP Harley though, found no associations between food colorings and hyperactivity. Yet another study conducted by KS Rowe on 800 children found that about 24 children exhibited irritability, restlessness and sleep disturbance.

    Hence through this studies, we can conclude that there is a small but significant association between hyperactivity and food colourants, though more research needs to be conducted in this area.

    There are also certain researches linking consumption of artificial food dyes to cancer and allergies, though more research needs to be conducted in this area.

    Eating whole, unprocessed foods must be the utmost priority as they are dye free and it is also best to read food labels before its consumption.

    Covid-19 vaccine would roll out in as less than 3 months in UK, if reports are to be believed. The vaccine is reported to be in advanced stages of development being developed by Oxford university and a British multinational pharmaceutical named AstraZeneca. The vaccine excludes children. This news has come after the vaccine trial was put on hold last month due to an adverse reaction developed in one of the participants. Later though after obtaining approval from Medicines Health Regulatory Authority (MHRA), the trials resumed.

    The Uk government has ordered 100 million doses of the vaccine. According to a protocol by UK’s joint committee on vaccination and immunisation, the vaccination would be tried out on adults over the age of 65, followed by adults over 50 and lastly young adults in the end.

    Even after the approval of Covid-19 vaccine , it might take another six to nine months for its approval, according to Professor Nilay Shah, head of chemical engineering at Imperial College London. Government sources involved in vaccine production though claim that it could take six months or less after approval and would be significantly quicker.

    Is Samsung Galaxy M51 really the MEANEST MONSTER?

    I bought Samsung Galaxy M51 on 18th September, the first day of sale and I’ve been using it for the past 15 days. Here’s my review:

    1. Camera: Samsung has gone with a quad-camera setup on the Galaxy M51 consisting of a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5 macro camera and a depth sensor.  If having a good camera is your top priority, go for this one. It’s probably the best under 30k range, even better than the OnePlus Nord I’d say. The single take feature is great, the HDR feature does a good job capturing details and balancing exposure. The front camera and ultra wide camera are also pretty good and unlike most of the phones having a useless 2 MP macro camera, this one has a 5 MP one which takes good quality pictures. The only con I can think of is that pictures are too sharp sometimes. Here are some pictures I took:

    Video recording supports 4K for the primary as well as the selfie camera but video stabilisation isn’t great.

    Battery: Needless to say, the massive 7000mAh battery lasts more than a day even after heavy usage. Reverse charging is also supported so you could use the phone as a powerbank as well.

    Build quality and display: the 6.7 inch super amoled display with a full-HD+ resolution looks amazing with excellent viewing angles and vibrant colours. The extra large display could be a pro or con depending on your preferences. The phone is pretty thick and bulky (213 grams) but the weight is evenly distributed. The plastic back is prone to scratches so I’d suggest you to buy a cover as soon as possible.

    RAM and Storage: The phone comes in two variants:

    1. 6GB RAM+128GB storage variant priced at 25k

    2. 8GB RAM+128GB storage variant priced at 27k

    Processor and overall performance: Galaxy M51 runs Android 10 operating system along with Samsung’s own One UI. The Snapdragon 730G offers a smooth and lag-free performance.

    Overall, I’d say it’s a great phone under 30k and I’m pretty satisfied with my choice.
